"Believe in Cleveland" campaign
^Sounds like you are coming down with a bad case of Clevelanditis, where when someone points out some of the good things that make the city great, you puke up everything that is wrong Many cities have plans that don't pan out. Here in Chicago they have block 37, across from Marshall Fields which is empty. In the 7 years I have lived here off and on, I can recall at least a half dozen plans that were persued for the property. They finally broke ground this month, but the company went bankrupt and the financing dried up. So it looks like it is going back to the drawing board again. My point is Chicago does not lament what they don't do, they celebrate what they do get done. That is the one thing Cleveland needs to learn how to do.

City Parks (Cleveland)
My vote for a "millenium" type park would be a the expanded North Coast Harbor that Jane had as part of her Lakefront plan. One of the main attractions in the Chicago park is the band shell, and I think it would be cool to have lakefront musical venue as well as Nautica stage.

Ohio: GM, Ford, and Chrysler News & Info
Healthcare, labor and capital they spent on new production lines. They were budgeted for a certain level of sales, and I know for the products I work on, the 500 and Freestyle, they only sell half of what was budgeted.

Cleveland: Innerbelt News
I am getting the idea that this is becoming one of those things that Cleveland is great at, rallying around a single cause, Rock Hall, Saving the Browns, etc. Hope it is not too little to late

Cleveland: Mayor Frank Jackson
It just seems to me that the political machine was really at play in this election, now everyone is going to get thier patronage. Political allies first, Cleveland second.

Cleveland: Mayor Frank Jackson
Others on the radar screen: former staffers of Mayor Michael R. White Like the airport director who did not know anything about airports, or the finance director who did not know anything about arithmetic

Cleveland: 2005 Mayoral Election
Ronayne's mentor was Hunter Morrison, so I seriously doubt he would stay with Jackson. I think he would be a good fit at UCI. About Triozzi, he did get a bunch of votes in the primary and he worked pretty hard for Jackson, wasn't he right up there next to him on election night? He pulled a bunch of Westside votes for Jackson

Cleveland: 2005 Mayoral Election
I am just going to remember Triozzi as the guy who got Jackson elected

Cleveland: 2005 Mayoral Election
Frank Jackson will apoint whoever Tubbs and Dimora tells him to appoint. That will be noone from the current admin. Now what projects are put into jepardy because there are more important thing to do, Steelyard commons? Flats? Avenues district? Digital cities initiative? I am disapointed in the vote. I hate Cleveland's political machine. Why do young urbanists like this Triozzi Ewoops? Looked like he helped give the election to Tubbs, er, Jackson

Quicken Loans expanding to Cleveland
Welcome Woodward. Not to be too critical, because Detroit is a much more wonderful city than the reputation it is stuck with, but I think the rapid influx to the city from the suburbs is due in part to the fact that EVERYTHING was in the suburbs. I think Detroit is going to continue to blossom, but I think if Kwame does not mature quickly, it will slow the progress of the city.

Cleveland: 2005 Mayoral Election
I heard the UCI rumor as well for Chris Roynanne. Lets give Jackson the benefit of the doubt. Jane has left him a city very much improved than the city she inherited. I do think she upset the local political machine (Dimora) it benefited the city, but not her. I hope Jackson tries to do the same.

I hope he contributed to Tubbs, otherwise he is SOL

^good point

Ohio Smoking Ban
Again, saying this smoking ban is only to protect workers is bull, I can go through my manufacturing analogy again. People want to make smoking illeagal. As for drinking, as soon as the liberal elitists and the consevative bible thumpers get together and decide that the poor, dumb lower classes are making mistakes because of booze, that winning coalition will push for prohibition 2.0

What exact avenue is the Avenue named after. This kinda confuses me, because the mall at Tower City is named the Avenue. But since noone shops there, I may be the only one confused.

Quicken Loans expanding to Cleveland
Well, that said given the choice between Greater Clevelands regional economy and Detroit's, I would pick Cleveland's any day of the week.
