I wonder how much of wal-mart's bad image stems from the fact that they are based in, and grew up in red state america? Does K-mart, or Target really have a dramatically different pay scale or benefits program for their employees? When was the last time you heard someone complaining about a Target going up in their neighborhood?

I wonder if the Gund will be used in conjunction, or if it could be. if they could figure out a way to include the arena as usable space it could make it a very large venue. But since the Gund was not built with that purpose in mind, I wonder if it could be altered in any way.

Wait, where are all of these 5000 people staying, the Gund ala Astrodome style?

I doubt that he would move the company, pope back me up on this one, but Rock financial is pretty much a household word in greater Detroit. They sponsor everything. Now, Rock would definitely stay in Michigan....but Quicken loans, the company outside of Michigan.......that might move, or start up a new office, and maybe bring 20% of the 5000 people who are visiting. I wonder if Gilbert is playing a little bit of politics with this party. Maybe he was taken a bit by suprise when the design review board rejected his 7-11 type sign for the Gund. This could be a hearts and minds, and a few $100,000s, campaign to make Cleveland like Gilbert as much as Detroit does. (at least that is what it seems like to someone who lived in Ann Arbor a grand total of 2 months)

Wow, it looks like someone put some thought into it. Research triangle.....Case, CSU, University of Akron? Kent? Is there a timeline to this? I hope much of this is accomplished quickly, before a possible new mayor can gut it to give more money to the poor, and make Roldo happy.

^The police were the only civil servants who did not sacrifice one thing in order to save jobs (free uniforms etc) Anywho, I guess Tubbs just endorsed Frank Jackson. Another reason to vote for Cambell. What has Tubbs done for the city? She has Kuchinichitis, she wants to be a player on the national stage, and could care less about what happens in Cleveland. (where was she during the DFAS?)

You know if the Tower city site is picked all that would be missing to make it a functioning mini-city is housing. I hope the Scranton Penn. comes back into play

You know if FC was THAT pissy about the county HQ, how will they react if the convention center still winds up on the mall? I think a back room deal just happend. But, it may be for the best anyways.

So, my theory. Mayor Jane (probably with Chris Roynanne whispering in her ear) puts Ratner in charge of the school super search. They get chummy, mends fences and he re-subs the convention plan. Sam Miller objects, and is over ruled. If this is true, its another good day for Cleveland.

Well, today when the experts were reading the tea leaves they took note that a place in Louisiana was spared because the community offered alternate places to house the (whatever it was in LA) and the fact the cleveland was offering the same made people more confident. I like run on sentences

I honestly hope good things start to happen, but the buckeye realty property? Wasn't that done about 6 years ago? At first it was a blockbuster, then a bank one. And the other projects near Lane, well when CP bulldozed South Campus, north campus gained all the students and the businesses followed. I wonder if I would not dislike Campus Partners so much if they just would stop trying to exaggerate (or lie about) how good they have been for campus.

The Silicon Valley computer chip-maker lauded Greater Cleveland as one of three worldwide technology pioneers. The company presented Mayor Jane Campbell with a plaque and painted a picture of a Northeast Ohio covered by a giant, $4 million "wireless cloud." Money from Intel, other national corporate giants and local governments and companies will help build the wireless network.
