Cleveland: Skylift Aerial Tram
If it does not take off in Cleveland, I am stealing the idea for New Orleans (but I am hoping it works in CLE first, then we can join the east bank and west bank of the Mississippi)

Cleveland: Downtown: Halle Building + Annex Conversion
Believe nothing until Michelle J. McFee reports it!

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Who is the designer of the pedestrian bridge in north coast harbor? He is a bit of an out of the box thinker, and I'm sure there is a way to do climate "resistant" walkway without being a gerbil tube. Maybe double deck? Maybe wind tunnel designed cursing walls that protect against rain and snow? What is in the PD is analogous to a massing of a building before the architect gets his or her hands on it

Cleveland: North Coast Transportation Center
It's not justified for the passenger rail service we have. Wasn't there a design flaw with the tower city station that prevented Amtrak from relocating there when tower city reopened in the early 90s? IIRC, it was either ceiling height or exhaust issues from the locomotive. KJP, do you remember that?

Cleveland: North Coast Transportation Center
Isn't Willard Park just the green roof to a parking garage, similar to mall a? Why couldn't a NCTC have a green roof over the rail tracks?

The media narrative about Cleveland is changing for the better. Most journalists just echo the narrative.

Cleveland: Downtown: Office Tower & Ferrari Showroom
As Mayday pointed out somewhere along the way, never trust a development story until Michelle Jarboe McFee reports it

The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
Love it “This is a wonderful week where Cleveland is an overnight sensation 30 years in the making,” said Hill. “Being in a position so that we’re actually competitive for the convention, which we weren’t 10 years ago, is a marker of progress,” he said.

What Would You Re-Name the Cleveland Indians?
This is an emotional issue all around. Let's remember to treat all fellow forum members with respect, and not let emotion get the better of us. Thanks

Architects and architecture aficionados, what is the significance of the cut out square in the top of the Beuer tower?

Cleveland: North Coast Transportation Center
A North Coast Transportation Center designed to help bridge the mall to north coast harbor is the perfect addition to downtown. Built anywhere else (unless they figure out how to get Amtrak at Tower City) is a wasted opportunity

If the Stanley Block was the only undeveloped parcel left in the city, I would agree with you.

My fault, I took us of topic. If we want to give local bloggers attention they crave, we should discuss it on the local media thread

The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
In one of the articles I read about the republican convention, David Gilbert of Positively Cleveland said there is a large gap in perceptions of the city between people who have visited and people who haven't. I believe that, so the more people we get coming here for conventions and the like, the more attitudes will change. (I always thought the convention center was a huge piece of the puzzle that needed to happen)

Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
The food issue can be taken care of my issuing food cart licenses, and having ample places to eat and drink. There are many traffic calming strategies they can use, it should be set up as a pederstrian zone that a vehicle is trying to traverse. I live in NOLA, and I see that on Bourbon and Royal streets every week. Cars have to move at a pedestrian pace

Cleveland (2014)
I really liked the thread. The view of the Higbees building from the welcome center is incredible :)

Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
Regarding the Standard Building purchase in anticipation of the Public Square renovation, can anyone on this board remember when spin off developments happened before earth was moved (with the possible exception of Gateway)? All if my life the community has invested in projects that would hopefully have spin off developments in the future. Cleveland has changed.
