Cleveland: Opportunity Corridor Boulevard
There are many valid reasons to be opposed to the OC. But, this group seems to always start the argument that it should be opposed because it is a highway, and we should not be building more highways. Since this road is clearly not a highway, it is hard me as a supporter of the project to listen to any other points that could be made. If the first/best argument isn't true, why continue listening? KJP, and other UOers, maybe you can use some influence there to try to have a more fact based debate. Just my two cents. (P.S. Also, this road is NOT in the southeast corner of the city, make them stop saying that too, please)

Cleveland: Demolition Watch
Bob Brown's legacy will be of how much was destroyed, rather than what was built. Im not angry anymore, just sad.

Cleveland: Demolition Watch
Does the city have any programs that help maintain or find new uses for landmark buildings? I know there are federal and state tax credits, but what about the city?

I think I'm staying with Arial

Cleveland Browns Discussion
I nearly got into about 5 fights in the quarter that night. (A couple of time I may have baited the Baltimore fans because I knew the cops nearby)

Best font for file labels?
With all of the graphic designers here, I figured I would ask. I am a deciple of the GTD (Getting things done) method, and I label all of my file folders. With the new job, I stepped up to the Dymo plug and play label maker for my computer. The only problem, it comes with literally hundreds of fonts. So, if anyone would like to suggest one, I am all ears. Otherwise, Arial. Thanks!!

Cleveland: Hotel Development
Well, Crowne Plaza is off the market, as well as Embassy Suites. Add a dip in supply to an increase in visitors due to the casino, I can see a bump. I'm too lazy to look, but I wonder if there were more home games for the Browns this October vs. last.

Cleveland: Jack Cleveland Casino
I think for the purposes of the article about the Horseshoe Casino, calling Higbees the oldest department store is close enough

They would probably partner with someone like the Westin. Sage hospitality is their partner here

Maybe they will shut it down as an office building for its few remaining tenants, so it can be converted to residential or hotel.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
If it was a one night slip up, of course. He admitted to killing 8 dogs, and ran the ring for years. He deserves his freedom, and he has the right to be employed. BUT, I don't owe him anything, and I will never cheer for him. If the Browns hire him, they lost a lifetime fan.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
I love my Browns, but I love my rescue Pitt Bulls even more. If the Browns bring in Vick, I will not be a fan until both Vick and Banner leaves. (They are distant cousins of the Hypno-toad, hanging with my at Fahy's in the French Quarter)

Marcellus / Utica Natural Gas & Fracking
^I know last March with the combination of a mild winter and so much new gas coming on the market for the reasons you explain above, there was no where to store it. Salt mines were being purchased as temporary holding facilities.

Cleveland's Tower City Center - declining or realigning to its market?
The Rock n Roll Hall of Fame was originally supposed to go to Tower City along the river, that was the draw for Neiman Marcus, which brought in a bunch of high end retail along with it. Then the Rock Hall moved to North Coast Harbor, and Neiman Marcus was cancelled. Several of the top tier stores had already signed a lease. When the lease ended, they left.

Contractor testifies Forlani acted on his behalf in seeking aid of Council President Martin Sweeney By James F. McCarty, The Plain Dealer The Plain Dealer on January 09, 2013 at 1:06 PM, updated January 09, 2013 at 4:57 PM During the second day of Forlani's sentencing hearing this morning, Pumper said the phone conversation dealt with his request that Forlani assist him in dealing with Sweeney. Pumper recalled that he had asked Forlani to use his influence with Sweeney to help resolve a lawsuit involving unpaid bills for work performed at Cleveland Browns Stadium. "Michael's very close to Marty," Pumper testified. "With that relationship, it really gave us the opportunity to move the settlement of this case forward faster." http://www.cleveland.com/countyincrisis/index.ssf/2013/01/convicted_contractor_testifies.html
