I figured no malice was intended, so I considered it was a teachable moment for everyone. :)

It also has some of the coolest, densest, neighborhoods in the state as well. Just a reminder that we do not slam any city within Ohio, here at urbanohio.com. The above quote may not have been intended as an insult, but it could be perceived that way.
  3. Sandvick is advocating for it, but is not working on it http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2011/03/preservationists_push_to_save.html?mobRedir=false http://mobile.cleveland.com/advcleve/pm_100801/contentdetail.htm?contentguid=lIxPODJJ

It may need to be polished, which I'm guessing may be typical for this type of cladding procedure.
  5. ^add in tax amnesty for previous infraction (at least on fines and interest) and we may have a winner
  6. Rockwell does have a history in Euclid
  7. This project, along with the casino, will tranform the city for the better, and we will finally realize the benefit of hosting the rock hall. (I like it)

Laissez les bons temps rouler! Happy Mardi Gras y'all
  10. When the casino was asking Ohio voters to approve their constitutional amendment to open a casino they said they wiuld weave it into the existing fabric of downtown. That was a lie. They had already purchased the Columbia with the intent to tear it down for parking. They wanted to buy the Stanley Block too, for the same reason. They couldn'y buy it, but their friends in city hall will knock it down for them. If their promise was not a lie, I would be a supporter of Rock Gaming.
  11. The way I read the article there were two owners, a family who wanted to renovate, and Rock Caesars who stalled. Do I have it wrong?
  12. Has there been any word on who will be the chef of the "chef driven destination restaurant?"

  15. Hand me a bat because it is a pretty ridiculous name for a garage. What will they call the overhead walkway, the self propelled horizontal ferris wheel?

Thats good news, most of their wire manufacturing is being done in Mentor. Techalloy is a good product, and LE should be able to make it grow
  17. Hey JMasek, I guess I am showing my age here, but I remember when the waterfront line opened up during the height of the flats popularity. I remember a lot of my friends thinking they could go out and when the bars closed, hop on the new rapid, but it stopped running at 11pm (or there abouts) That said, does the RTA ever do any market surveys to figure out if its worth trying a new service, and then having the customers follow?

  20. I have seen where they include Public Hall in the available space, which wiuld be leased from the city on an event by event basis. Maybe that brings them to 1 million sq ft
  21. ***General Reminder Folks***** Please do not use curse words on the site, or at least substitute a character, like "d!ck". A lot of members log in from work, and we don't want to have the forum wind up on a banned list. Thanks
  22. Any chance that the metroparks system could be convinced to take over Cleveland's lakefront State parks?
  23. good point KJP good point gottaplan Speaking of the beach...who maintains Mentor Highlands. I haven't been there for many many years, but it always seemed like a good beach. Can they offer any lessons learned?
  24. Dude, it overlooked Tuttle Park, had a really nice, lush yard of its own, and provided a nearby bathroom for my friends and I football Saturdays.
