    Welcome!!
  2. Thanks. I remembered they were further east of the condo building, but still proably a bit too far to have a direct impact on the Avenue development
  3. How close is this to the Avenue development townhouses?

^I think it was a mix of summer cottages, and the post war suburban house model
  5. Scene......sucks. For the record, lots of yachts used to go to shooters and the rest of the flats

I grew up on E. 222nd street, most of my family still lives in Euclid. The mortgage mess hit Euclid hard. People always say crime is increasing, but like you, I don't see it or feel it when I visit. Lincoln Electric has been doing really well the past 10 years, and they continue to invest in Euclid. One symbol of that will be a HUGE wind tower they are erecting on its campus.
  7. They way they were built would make moving difficult, and likely very very expensive
  8. Well, I was actually hoping someone took a pic of the concrete garden that used to be there
  9. Do they plan on doing more urban renewal with the use of eminent domain?
  10. Anyone have a "before" pic?
  11. Just a reminder Investors plan $55 million hotel project in historic Euclid Avenue buildings Published: Thursday, November 18, 2010, 6:05 PM Updated: Friday, November 19, 2010, 11:18 AM By Michelle Jarboe, http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2010/11/investors_plan_55_million_hote.html The investors behind JHB Hotel have a signed letter of intent with an upscale brand, said Pete Whiskeman, a partner in the project. He declined to identify the brand but said the project would involve a 200-plus-room hotel, indoor parking and 12,000 to 13,000 square feet of ground-floor retail. The hotel would open in 2013, timed to the debut of the casino, the convention center and the medical mart, a planned showplace for medical devices.
  12. Look at that hole right there. Build a huge sportsbar, facing the Q and The Jake, and put 20 freaking stories of parking above it. Have the VIP garage and entrance be below the bar and it can literally connect to phase I and phase II
  13. ^that is why I'll be supporting someone other than Jackson next election. Where is Cimperman on this?
  14. I just called the reporter, and asked why the poll said, "Should the Columbia building come down to make way for the casino" and not, for a garage for the casino. He said we would take a look at it.
  15. ^There is a facebook group called save lower prospect, sign up!
  16. Props to Urbanohio.com for educating people like myself, and for being a resouce for how to get things done. Obviously more than a few of the 30 e-mails and phone calls were from our members. (I thought it was more) NOW, WE HAVE TO KEEP UP THE PRESSURE AND SPREAD AWARENESS!!! Does anyone think that Great Lakes Brewery, or any of the chefs on E. 4th would be open to hosting a benefit for the "save lower prospect" movement, or is it too dicey for them to go against the casino?
  17. What about putting it in the "hole" on Huron. It would literally link Phase I and Phase II. No buildings torn down, no gerbil tubes, an undeveloped property gets used....
  18. There is a picture of it in Mayday's "observation" thread. The Columbia is in good shape. The Stanley block has some issues
  19. Why not put the garage in that hole on Huron, and leave histoic structures alone. Do you really think property between the casino and E 4th will be a "horrid landscape"?
  20. Is there one in the Cbus? Is there a Lindey's in Cincy?
  21. Did you see the rendering of the Stanley Block surrounded by the garage? Didn't look too spiffy
  22. Sounds like phase 2 might be here sooner than a lot of us expected
  23. ^The real question is, if the building saved will Gilbert let someone buy it. Or will he let it rot to spite the city, and try again in ten years
  24. ^MH, I wouldn't be a fan of that. The Columbia is screaming for a residential conversion.
