Cleveland: Innerbelt News
I think I have such low expectations for the project at this point, I am bound to be pleasently surprised.

New Ohio metro populations.
and census accuracy isn't all that great. Am I the only one who does not care about metro numbers? During Cleveland's worse years the metro numbers stayed the same, but urban life was horrible. Metro Detroit is still huge, but really is that a good, bad or none of the above?

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
The way I read it, the architects had to develop the convention center with the budget of $425MM. MMPI, then later the city reached out to groups to make the roof of the center, the mall, a dynamic place. (probably to keep cars parking in their parking lots even when there is not a show in town...but I digress) So, now the CC architects have given the groups in charge of the public spaces its canvas to work with. Their job now is to find the right amenities to bring to the mall, and the funding of how to do it. (My further guess is that eventually the mall will be administered by Cleveland Metroparks, and it will serve as the crown jewel of the emerald necklace. Mostly because they are good with money and have deep pockets.)

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
LMN Architects will propose sloping the downtown Cleveland Mall to create a dramatic new convention center entry The architects of the new Cleveland convention center have something radical in mind for the downtown Mall -- a grassy slope topping a glassy new convention center entrance on the south side of Lakeside Avenue. Under a proposal from LMN Architects of Seattle, the middle section of the Mall – known as Mall B – would gradually rise from south to north, culminating in a 27-foot-high viewing platform from which visitors could survey the lakefront to the north. more at: http://blog.cleveland.com/architecture/2010/08/lmn_architects_will_propose_sl.html

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
Lets remember, all cost overruns are to be paid for by MMPI, not the county

Cleveland: Downtown and subway tour
Well, unless there is a more appropriate thread, what are some brainstorming ideas for the subway station. An "underground" music venue for up and coming artists sponsored by the rock hall? Underground gallery for up and coming artists sponsored by MOCA/CMA? Any ideas?

Cleveland: 2014 Gay Games IX News & Discussion
it would be great if CSF did the "front of the house duties" being the gracious host, identifying the needs of the LBGT community, directing the feel and look of the events, while the GCSC could do the "back of the house" finanical management, etc. Thats what I hope is shaking out.

he is saying it won't be one thing. Not sure if that is right, but that is where his maker is. Still Arhaus furniture for me.

JivecityCLE - my trip to the Forest City
I would have to think that Shaker Heights, one of the first planned communities in the states also took away some market pressure for high rise apartments.

Cleveland Flats memories from back in the day!
Blame the beach club, and anyone else who turned into 18 and over dance clubs. Add in psycho doormen at the basement. The Wolstiens letting any club that would pay the rent in. By the time White actually tried to clean up the flats, it was too far gone.

The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
It was really a great run during the middle of the decade, 1994 the Jake opens, 1995 the Rock Hall, 1996 the Bicentennial, 1997 the All Star Game ('97 right?) A lot of the euphoria was killed when Art Modell announced his "decision" to create the Baltimore Browns. It sucked the life out of the room. Then we had the "Quiet Crisis"........ ..........Then UrbanOhio.com was founded and the city got back on track in a hurry

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
to me, authentic Mexican is not very spicey, and that is what I love. Now the sauces are spicy, but the food isn't. Im back in the land of Tex Mex, spicy, cheesy, sour creamy, which to me is crappy. I look forward to trying RoseAngel when I come back home.

Is anyone really surprised that Boston sports fans are whiney, cockey, b*tches? Ask any Red Sox fan about the Yankees. Boston sucks.
