NOLA (Part 1): Faubourg Marigny
Any good/unique restaurants over there? There are a bunch on Frenchmen street, and a few scattered through the neighborhood. The Thai, Japanese, and Indian places of the area are in the Marigny More known for food rather then ambiance. And a bunch of bars, mostly gay or extra gay friendly

NOLA (Part 1): Faubourg Marigny
most of the cheap quarter apartments became condo vacation homes begining in the 90s. They are more rental units now, but not anywhere near what it used to be....so I'm told.

NOLA (Part 1): Faubourg Marigny
^In a nutshell, all of the people who used to live in the quarter, and the quarter rats that grew up in the quarter live in the marigny and bywater area's now.

Cuyahoga County: County Government Reform News & Discussion
Euclid and Beachwood in the same zone...they are kind of similar. Kinda like a cheetah and a parakeet are similar I also can't believe Cleveland Hts, Shaker Hts and Univeristy hts are in 3 districts! Doesn't CH and UH share a school system, or is it just community services. Either way, I think the people of the heights are going to have more seats at the table than every other community. It will be a very Heights centered county government.

It should help in furthering W.25th as a destination. With the market, it will have daytime and nighttime crowds.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
main auditorium space is in Public Hall, above ground. The Convention center is roughly under the mall. So, MMPI is walking away from using the Auditorium.

Dog-Friendly Bars in Cleveland
Down here in New Orleans, a good third of the bars are doggy friendly. Which is good because my dogs' owner is a drunk who likes to spend quality time with his dogs.

^MMPI has dropped all plans for Public Hall, at this moment. It can and probably will change.

As someone who is not a friend of Mr. McNulty, I appreciate his contibutions to Ohio City. His friends on this board have taken legitimate observations as personal attacks. Lets just drop it.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
PD link to Mangini story http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2010/01/league_sources_eric_mangini_wi.html I am very happy to say, I was wrong. Stability for the Brownies, it's kind of nice.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
^Eminent domain for taking one business and giving it to another has some legal hurdles. Taking a business for a public good, such as a park is less dificult. So, the MM setback from St. Clair, roughly the length of the Sportsman restaurant will be a park....unless the owner and MMPI come to an agreement. I've got one, 5 times is apraised value and a 20 year rent free lease in the new facility.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
So, just to recap for me, because I am easily confused. Will the county have the rights to both the Ontario and St. Clair corners (pending Sportsman) very soon?

Cleveland Browns Discussion
I think Holmgren is waiting out the good feelings from the past few weeks so that Browns fans can make a more sober judgement about the team. At least that is happening to me. I think Mangini, if all things were the same, would be a good coach for the Browns, and I was proud of the way they played the last 4 games. I actually expected victory in the last game. That said, Holmgren was brought in not only to win games, but to build a solid, respectable NFL franchise. He is going to need his guys in position to make that happen. Maybe Mangini is willing to be a subordinate, but if he is not, he won't want to be part of the newest edidtion of the Browns. I think Mangini proved himself as a good NFL coach this year. It just may be that his carreer will not be in Cleveland.

Cleveland: Catholic Diocese Church Closings
^but the older population does. I am now worried about how this is going to effect inner ring suburbs. In my hometown of Euclid, my parish, St. Christine, is "merging" with Holy Cross. In the dumbest move I have heard, the Bishop is relocating the Pastor of Holy Cross and they are renaming it "Our Lady of the Lake" So, not only am I losing St. Christines, I am also losing Holy Cross. My mom goes to church every day, so she is an old Church lady and she knows everyone at both parishes. She, and a lot of her friends are thinking that this is the time to leave Euclid, some are thinking the west side, some out further east. I never thought my Mom would ever consider leaving Euclid, but now it makes sense. If she is going to have to get used to a brand new parish anyways, might as well buy a smaller house, near where her friends are moving. If a quarter of the people who are threatening to move actally follow through, this will be the largest exodus since white flight/bussing. This sucks. Thanks Bishop Lennon

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
i like the St Clair location. This development helps in a number of ways. it pressures the st clair owners because they no longer have MMPI over a barrell. depending on how long the option is, it can be likely transfered to a CC hotel. Either way, the skys are clearing for the deal.

Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
^In a perfect world would be an ideal opprotunity for the Ohio Department of Transportation to coordinate with RTA, parkworks, and the county to make a change like this work. It could use its transportation expertise to identify locations that the RTA could cluster, using tools such as traffic light management, strategic use of one way roads, etc. But, alas, ODOT's one and only mission is to build highways. It has no expertise in other areas. Sorry for the rant, back to Public Square.
