Union County: Jerome Township Developments and News
PILOT sounds like what we have in Ohio TIF, Tax Increment Financing. Which is to say the increased value of the area will be used to pay bonds issued for the capital improvement of the area. Back to latest Columbus development. Wasn't 161 supposed to be the tech corridor? How many new roads will ODOT have to build for this development?

Cleveland: Filling in Euclid Avenue
^^But its not like there is one great mixed use development and a low income housing project, a few medical start ups and an expanded arts venue at the Agora to go along with the psychiatric hospital. Cleveland should be using every resource available to put its best foot forward on Euclid Ave, especially the first few steps.

Cleveland: Filling in Euclid Avenue
Sorry I don't buy that as "Euclid Avenue" is not a completed project. One phase/portion is done, transit. :? That was my point. But if there is no planning on the types of developments that go it, especially at this initial phase, the street will never live up to its potential. It will be another wasted opportunity.

Cleveland: Filling in Euclid Avenue
perhaps in 2009, but the idea of restoring Euclid Ave is that it would grow and be the spine of a new city. Now that the actual street has been rebuilt it was left up to the city leaders to make wise choices that will enable the street to live up to its potential. Its seems like the city did not even try

Info on relocating to Cleveland area
jday, what don't you like about Louisville, so we can steer you away from the same enviroment. The times I have stopped in Louisville (on my way to and from Cleveland to the Gulf Coast, I was surprised about how big it was. It reminded me a lot of Columbus) I say live as urban as you can before you have kids, look into Detroit Shoreway or Tremont. Ohio City is one to watch, a few forumers have started thier families there.

Cleveland: Filling in Euclid Avenue
A bit dramatic, but pretty much sums up a lot of the feelings of the board

Cleveland: Historic Hanna Fountains
IIRC the materials and workmanship on the individual fountains were not all that remarkable. I really doubt they were saved, because they were highly corroded by the time they were uninstalled, and it would be easy to recreate them.

Start us out with a viral letter. Dude, have ever read my posts? I can barely spell. Im thinking the cool journalistic style of a KJP with a dash of your flair and DocBroc's fumes could put together a compelling letter

Cleveland: Local Media News & Discussion
Time to stoop to the PDs level :whip: Lets get after the advertisers they have now. Send them this article and say that if you advertise in this paper, we assume that you are also as anti-Cleveland as the paper and you will no longer have our patronage. Time to put this rag out of business, unless the publisher and editors are fired.

^for selling drugs, my vote would be no Now, if three neighbors told me there was a home invasion going on, or an immediate threat to people inside the building, then they could go in. As I see it, the immediacy of the potential harm is the measure of whether or not someone can enter. For this episode, it was possibly a home invasion. The officer asked Prof. Gates for an ID and if anyone else was in the building. If this was the Prof. and he was alone, there could be a possibility that he was unaware of the break in, or that the criminals were in the house holding a member of his family hostage. I admit it is unlikely, but it was something the officer had eliminate as a possibility.

Indisputable truth that the PD is anti-Cleveland. EDIT: OH DEAR GOD, I AGREE WITH ROLDO! I'll just say it is so obvious, that everyone would agree

A very similar incident happend to me. I was moving out of one of my apartments in Chicago's Roscoe Village neighborhood. I did not have my keys with me on this run because I had a rental van and left my car keys as well as my door keys at the new place. So, I had to jimmy a window open reach in, and unlock the back door to let myself in. About 2 minutes later "CHICAGO POLICE" was forcefully spoken. A bit startled I said something dumb like "Hello" and walked to the back door. The officer had opened the unlocked door, and was standing near it displaying his badge. To be honest, I can't remember if he was just inside or outside of the door. He explained that he saw the way I entered and suspected I was breaking in, and he asked me if I lived here and if I had ID. I said that I did, and produced my drivers license. He said thank you and left. All I could think about was how awesome the neighborhood I was in. I bragged about the story for a while to fellow Chicagoans, and my family. How great it was to have a cop that would care enough to investigate what probably wasn't a break in, but could be. I just read the Cambridge police report, and if what the office says is true (I am sure it will be investigated) the Professor said the front door did not open properly because of a previous break in attempt. If that is true, that guy is an a**hole, and the President stepped into a pile of poo because of him.

Cleveland: Rock and Roll Hall of Fame News & Discussion
I did not notice the word "Cleveland" in there. I am upset, but I am not surprised. All major halls of fame hold their large public events in New York. Its not like people could be expected to go to Cooperstown, NY for baseball or Canton, OH for football, those communities could not handle it. Oh, wait...

The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
When I come back into town, I always see old friends at the market. Ohio City sounds like it has really solidified. Back in 2001 I lived on W.44th near John, and the area was nice, but there were lots of break ins. How is it now? In your opinion, has Ohio City and Detroit Shoreway both grown enough so that it is one continuous safe place to live?
