Floods7 Try looking up Litt's articles in this tread and it should give you some insight on convention center layouts. In short, exhibit halls need to be long, tall, and windowless and columnless. So a highrise being verticle would not help since they need to be horizontal. (type Litt into the search box when you are in this thread)

Moral Dilemma-What if anything should I do?
Seriously? You never had a beer with your family, or your family and family friends? (or once in the billion parties you have been to) Drinking does not mean drunk. What is more likely to produce drunk drivers, a supervised party for graduating seniors or a 21st birthday party not supervised by anyone?

Call the hosts of the party and find out the facts before you assume what is going on. Then decide what to do, but you already have my opinion

Moral Dilemma-What if anything should I do?
Thanks for that info, but the key words are a parent serve alcohol to their children. And parents will have that option, some parents may want to join thier children and supervise them as they have a few beers at a party, perhaps teach a lesson in moderation. Some parents will not want to, and restrict thier children from going. This is, unless DanB decides for everyone and has the police raid the party

FYI:it is not illegal in Ohio to have a parent serve alcohol to their children. For instance, many European families have wine with dinner, so it is not illeagal to have the parent serve wine to thier child.

^wasn't it legal for you to have a beer at 18? (3.2beer?)

Moral Dilemma-What if anything should I do?
DanB, just so I have this straight, you think 18 year olds are mature enough to go off to war, but not mature enough to have beer at a graduation party supervised by adults?

Moral Dilemma-What if anything should I do?
^then let that be the end of it, let the other parents decide for their children

I don't know what you should do, but I do lament the fact that young adults are not brought into the age of drinking with other more mature adults, where they can learn how to have a good time within moderation. When they do learn how to drink its taught by other 17-21 year olds. Since it is forbidden fruit, and you never know when the party will be busted by the cops, better drink as much as you can as fast as you can. These days, it is just not beer, I've been around 20 year olds who can throw back a bottle of Jack Daniels. So, do what you feel is right. I just would really like to see the drinking age lowered to 19 to curb the binge drinking culture that exists with 18-21 year olds, that spills over into these kids adult lives. (full disclosure, I am a bartender who is looking to own a bar...someday. But, I do not serve people who are already overserved. The most belligerent drunks are the 21 to 24 year olds, and each year it gets worse)

Also remember FEB is not a part of DDRC, if the company would go into bankruptcy protection, it would have no effect on the company that Scott and Iris Wolstien set up for FEB.

I think that is another example of why this is so successful. It did not open with a bang, had everyone from Greater Cleveland show up for the first year, then drift off to the next big thing. One store opens, lots of free press, then six months later another store opens, lots of free press, lots of return visitors to check out the new place, six months later......

My thought would be that it would be easier to get investors if they see something being built, even if it is just a garage for now.

If, hopefully when, they get some of the stimulus money they are hoping for, then I will be exited.
