Interesting that the picture on stark's site shows the May Co. building as a public parking garage. I didn't think that was confirmed.

Saw this last night in the 5th street arcade while we were walking back from the Indians game. I hope this Barrio plans to open for lunch.

I noticed some guys scrubbing on of the black panels on my way to work today. It looked like a test cleaning. Are those metal or some sort of stone?

Northeast Ohio / Cleveland: General Transit Thread
I took a quick glance through the project site and didn't see it mentioned. Is the potential for TOD at euclid square mall and the bluestone business park factored in to the red line extension at all? That looks like over 100 acres of land to me that abuts the RR tracks without much active development going on.

Nice piece on Gizmodo about the chandelier. http://gizmodo.com/the-worlds-biggest-outdoor-chandelier-beckons-you-to-cl-1572262174 The World's Biggest Outdoor Chandelier Beckons You to Cleveland's Stage Andrew Tarantola For a time in the Vaudeville Era, few theater districts outside of Broadway were hotter than Cleveland, Ohio's. But as the decades rolled on and times changed, the district fell upon hard times. But now, after a concerted revitalization effort, the the crown jewel of the district is back in business—and it sports the world's largest outdoor chandelier to prove it.

We ended up stopping by this weekend too. Its a really nice space, they'll do well. I hope they have plans for additional seating; I see this place being a madhouse in the summer.

Zach Bruell's Kafeteria is now open in the BP building (200 public sq), 3rd floor, open to the public. They've got your standard multi-station cafeteria layout with a few nicer options: Pizza, noodles, grill, salad, sushi, espresso, and juice bar. Haven't heard a complaint yet from anyone in the office.

They'll just move to the medmart/convention center. Hope they have a good exterminator.

Cleveland: Downtown: May Company Building
I always thought that would be a good building for a tech company (a la google) data center on the interior of the building, offices on the edges. Apartments will be nice though.

I know how everyone here loves hearsay :P A friend of mine was moving into the Hanna building yesterday and was talking to some of the construction crew. Word is they'll finish up the Hanna in mid October and then start work on the East Ohio tower.

Ohio Restaurant Reviews
Not a direct review, but I've heard half a dozen people around the office say J.Gumbo ranks very good to exceptional.

I've tried a lot of chicken and waffles and Phil's was the best I'd had in Cleveland, shame its closing. I do agree with all the comments about the service, it was always shoddy. Not too broken up about Nexus closing. The couple times I visited their coffee drinks were horrible. Decor/atmosphere was nice, never tried the food. Better off going to Erie Island or A.J. Rocco's.

There is a long, long discussion thread about this on one of my foodie boards. Basically, people are split very evenly into two camps - there are no rules posted, so I can reserve a table whenver I want as soon as I enter OR you should get your food first, then wait your turn, otherwise the "flow" is disrupted and people end up standing and waiting. The previous class believes that it's stupid to stand and wait, if you see an empty table, you should grab it. The 2nd group believes it's not right/polite to do that. Unless there are posted rules, it really is every man for himself. I am morally in the 2nd camp, but for practicality's sake, you will see me going in and leaving my coat at a table or making my husband sit there to hold the table while I go get food. You end up standing and waiting too often and wishing people would act differently doesn't give you a seat. How many people are in the camp where if no one is sitting at the table you just move their stuff to another "held" table and sit down?
