  1. Interesting that the picture on stark's site shows the May Co. building as a public parking garage. I didn't think that was confirmed.
  2. Saw this last night in the 5th street arcade while we were walking back from the Indians game. I hope this Barrio plans to open for lunch.
  3. I noticed some guys scrubbing on of the black panels on my way to work today. It looked like a test cleaning. Are those metal or some sort of stone?
  4. I took a quick glance through the project site and didn't see it mentioned. Is the potential for TOD at euclid square mall and the bluestone business park factored in to the red line extension at all? That looks like over 100 acres of land to me that abuts the RR tracks without much active development going on.
  5. Nice piece on Gizmodo about the chandelier. http://gizmodo.com/the-worlds-biggest-outdoor-chandelier-beckons-you-to-cl-1572262174 The World's Biggest Outdoor Chandelier Beckons You to Cleveland's Stage Andrew Tarantola For a time in the Vaudeville Era, few theater districts outside of Broadway were hotter than Cleveland, Ohio's. But as the decades rolled on and times changed, the district fell upon hard times. But now, after a concerted revitalization effort, the the crown jewel of the district is back in business—and it sports the world's largest outdoor chandelier to prove it.
  6. We ended up stopping by this weekend too. Its a really nice space, they'll do well. I hope they have plans for additional seating; I see this place being a madhouse in the summer.
  7. Zach Bruell's Kafeteria is now open in the BP building (200 public sq), 3rd floor, open to the public. They've got your standard multi-station cafeteria layout with a few nicer options: Pizza, noodles, grill, salad, sushi, espresso, and juice bar. Haven't heard a complaint yet from anyone in the office.
  8. They'll just move to the medmart/convention center. Hope they have a good exterminator.
  9. I always thought that would be a good building for a tech company (a la google) data center on the interior of the building, offices on the edges. Apartments will be nice though.
  10. What about the 4 floors Key Bank leases? When does that end?
  11. I know how everyone here loves hearsay :P A friend of mine was moving into the Hanna building yesterday and was talking to some of the construction crew. Word is they'll finish up the Hanna in mid October and then start work on the East Ohio tower.
  12. Not a direct review, but I've heard half a dozen people around the office say J.Gumbo ranks very good to exceptional.
  13. I've tried a lot of chicken and waffles and Phil's was the best I'd had in Cleveland, shame its closing. I do agree with all the comments about the service, it was always shoddy. Not too broken up about Nexus closing. The couple times I visited their coffee drinks were horrible. Decor/atmosphere was nice, never tried the food. Better off going to Erie Island or A.J. Rocco's.
  14. ^I can just imagine how many burning river / penis jokes would be flying around
  15. There is a long, long discussion thread about this on one of my foodie boards. Basically, people are split very evenly into two camps - there are no rules posted, so I can reserve a table whenver I want as soon as I enter OR you should get your food first, then wait your turn, otherwise the "flow" is disrupted and people end up standing and waiting. The previous class believes that it's stupid to stand and wait, if you see an empty table, you should grab it. The 2nd group believes it's not right/polite to do that. Unless there are posted rules, it really is every man for himself. I am morally in the 2nd camp, but for practicality's sake, you will see me going in and leaving my coat at a table or making my husband sit there to hold the table while I go get food. You end up standing and waiting too often and wishing people would act differently doesn't give you a seat. How many people are in the camp where if no one is sitting at the table you just move their stuff to another "held" table and sit down?
  16. Detroit would actually be perfect for BRT/Streetcar. Have it come over the bridge down superior to Public Square, then you have an easy transfer to the Healthline.
  17. ^I can't comment on rates, but I work on e.12th and I can tell you that, even this far from the action, the parking garages are filling up earlier.
  18. ^ I'm pretty sure it has to do with that big sewer overflow tunnel they're building. http://www.cuyahogaswcd.org/EuclidCreekFiles/EC_EuclidCreekTunnelProject_NEORSD.htm

Weeden was a wasted pick. If you stack McCoy's stats up against the first 2 years of all of next years likely starters he comes out average to above average in almost every category even with an offense that is totally stacked against him (no weapons, no line, no time to learn a new scheme). Weeden has to come in and be significantly better than McCoy immediately (we can't afford a slight improvement with the 22nd pick) for this to be a good pick, and I don't see that happening. Add on the fact that he'll get so physically abused we'll have to replace him in 3-4 years instead of the 5-6 that he might last on a better team. IMO we should have spent this year and next building up the rest of the team, then, if McCoy isn't up to snuff, start snagging QBs.
  20. Whats with the Rocco bashing the the PD comments...sheesh

^Anyone have any legal residential uses that would really piss off the neighbors, lol
  22. I thought they engineered the roof of the CC to hold full crowds of people on top in the event there are concerts, presidential speeches, or other things that would draw enormous crowds.
  23. if you google the title of the article you can read all of it. I believe google has a deal with crains to allow this
  24. http://www.clevescene.com/scene-and-heard/archives/2012/04/03/noodlecat-to-land-at-west-side-market Noodlecat to Land at West Side Market POSTED BY DOUGLAS TRATTNER ON TUE, APR 3, 2012 AT 9:09 PM "We've been talking to Gary [Thomas, owner of Ohio City Pasta] since December about putting a Noodlecat into the Sideshow space," says Jonathon Sawyer, still on a plane at Miami International Airport. The West Side Market space, right across the aisle from Ohio City Pasta, has been vacant for months. "We're going to take off from where Noodlecat started," Sawyer adds. "We'll be blanching noodles to order the exact same way as in the restaurant."
  25. ^^^I park in the garage next door for work and there has been people working in the building for months now doing demo work (heard jackhammers today). Cool to see an article about whats going on.
