  1. Unless something changed in the last year or so Chipotle doesn't franchise any stores (I looked into opening one). There's only a few that aren't owned by the company and those are the stores that were franchises back when McDonald's owned them.

Way to go cavs. Was it just me, or did that play where Gibson sprained his ankle seem a little dirty?

I've been looking at a lot of the options and the one I keep coming back to is draft picks. There really aren't any players we could reasonably expect in a trade that we would want or that would make us much better.
  4. ^I believe it was cleaned within the past few years, but I hear you its getting bad again.
  5. Jerry, I agree those are the most likely places to be hit by tourists. I was just wondering if there were any thoughts/plans to extend this service. It would up the convenience factor in general. If I've got people coming to visit and they want transit passes its a lot easier to find a Walgreens than a station with a fare machine.
  6. ^Good stuff. In the article it said "Under RTA's plan, visitors could buy a "Cleveland Pass" online at riderta.com or over the counter at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, at hotels and at welcome centers operated by Positively Cleveland and University Circle Inc." Has there been any thought/exploration of selling passes at local drug/convenience stores as well?
  7. Hah, if they put it up during the games I would agree, but I see it as an economical solution for the other 3/4 of the year there is no football.
  8. What about something similar to the dome over the CSU soccer field. Something flexible that can be removed easily. Use wires from the roof to hold up the middle then attach it around the edges.

Slats are up today on the trellis.
  10. Also, to add on to that, is there any data surrounding how much convention goers visit retail establishments? As far as the retail tenants part of this discussion goes, I think targeting retailers that have 1 or 0 locations in NEO is key to pulling suburban shoppers. Not that Nordstrom could fit at TC, but as an example if you currently have someone driving from Rocky River to Beachwood to go to Nordstrom, they might be more likely to shop at one at TC to save time. edit: ClevelandOhio slipped that post in while I was typing :)

Can we get the internet cafes to move into the mall? Just put them in a different branch than the churches, it should all work out ok. :)
  12. ^ Cool report Ken. What I found interesting was that the Class A rates were lower (slightly) in the CBD than in the East and South submarkets.
  13. http://www.cleveland.com/open/index.ssf/2011/11/cleveland_casino_opening_threa.html Casino commission hopes Cleveland casino will open on time Published: Wednesday, November 02, 2011, 5:55 PM Updated: Wednesday, November 02, 2011, 5:58 PM By Reginald Fields, The Plain Dealer Casino regulators are hopeful Cleveland's casino will open as scheduled next spring, despite a licensing delay. COLUMBUS, Ohio - State casino regulators are hopeful that Cleveland's casino will open as scheduled next spring, despite a delay in Rock Ohio Caesars securing its operating license. Asked Wednesday whether Rock's scheduled March 26 opening was still doable, Ohio Casino Control Commission executive director Matt Schuler expressed concern. "I think we need to work with them on that," he said, "but we're optimistic." The commission is still trying to determine all the individuals and entities required to file applications and submit to background checks as part of the licensing process. State law requires applications and checks on anyone associated with Rock or companies that contract with the gaming outfit, an expansive list that could include company officers, board members, and large stockholders and entities such as holding companies and parent companies.
  14. ^Near the rt-2/ I-90 split in Euclid, or is it Cleveland there?
  15. ^ My favorite paragraph.
  16. Cool. Thank you both.
  17. Since I haven't seen anything I'm assuming I'm looking in the wrong place (search for "coast guard" doesn't bring up anything recent and relevant). Does anyone know whats being built at the coast guard station?
  18. ^^They should work a deal with the garage above FFB. That thing is fairly empty most of the time.
  19. ^Gotcha, thanks. I didn't realize maron was steering that. I thought this might be some new plan.
  20. The hostel is cool, but what I'm really curious about is this Ari Maron "Marketplace Redevelopment" that is taking up an entire block. What, if any, are the plans there?
  21. And it wouldn't surprise me if they tried to plant grass in the dead of winter. Jerks. DocBroc -- did they pave and stripe the lot, finally??!? Was driving by and didn't get a good look at it in the rain, but it looked huge. I guess it's an improvement over the dirt field... Its paved and striped, I never see anyone parking there though.
  22. ^Thank you. I needed that laugh.
  23. ^I work there too and I disagree with that writer...<implode>
  24. To my knowledge, there are still tenants on some of those other floors. I believe Key Bank is renting some space on those floors. Key is on like the top 3 floors I believe. Floors 6, 8. and 9.
  25. I've gotta give my nod to Hunan East as long as you order off the picture menu. Although any place you see more Chinese people than non-Chinese people eating is usually good.
