  1. You would. Would you like me to tell you his thought on cinci's basketball team and city? Oh wait..... I would like to know what he thinks about UC's basketball team (I assume he wasn't talking bad about XU). Randy might get fired up.
  2. I thought he was in jail right now? Some tent city or something? MTS remind me to never piss you off. You're either full of crap or a pretty dangerous fella.
  3. I'd also like to throw in that this is the first tournament win for Dayton since 1990 and one Jim O'Brien, so this is a huge deal. Congrats fella's. Always love to see Huggins go down.
  4. HUGE UPSET. Dayton will riot tonight. Where's the BE contingent to tell us the top 8 teams in the BE are better than the best the A10 has to offer? UD 2-0, XU 1-0 against BE.

They should put it in Hyde Park Square  All of these social services and half way houses should move to Queensgate. The homeless could still get there, albiet it would be a little further of a walk, and who would care if they congregated in that area? All of the business already have high fences around them, and there are no residents you would need to worry about upsetting.

To be fair those bodies are real pain sometimes. Hard to find good parking.
  7. Is this the guy Jane Jacobs advocated against? Amazing to think what Manhattan would be like today...
  8. The fenestration is consistent with it's surroundings. Height is appropriate. It's brick. The only thing I can see people not liking is the turret, but since it's on a street corner I think it's appropriate. Great addition to Vine.

Agreed. It's tough being an urban Republican. This has nothing to do w/ being a Republican or being conservative. It has everything to do with the harm sensationalist radio can do to our city.

And that's not the same thing at all. It's one thing to make fun of a GAME and people who play the GAME. By reinforcing negative stereotypes and actively working to make it sound like downtown Cincinnati is a hopeless and dangerous place, WLW is shaping the opinion of thousands of people who may have otherwise chosen to invest, live, work, shop or play downtown.

I think the question was rhetorical.
  12. I'm reading this now. So far it's pretty interesting, I think it does a good job of explaining why the suburban model doesn't ultimately work without brow beating everybody who lives there.

I don't know how you can support the revitilzation and repopulation of downtown and OTR and fail to see how this type of "entertainment" is harmful to the city of Cincinnati? And what does he mean by "accosted"? Somebody on the streets talks to you? Heaven forbid. Or does he think he'll actually get mugged?
  14. At least we have our priorities straight.
  15. I'll donate again to keep that from happening!
  16. Nice to see 3 teams in from A10. Tough draw for Dayton in the first round.

I say give the 5th spot to Homer, he's earned it so far. Put Owings in the pen as long relief and for spot starts, and for his bat. It would be pretty awesome if our number one pinch hitter had to run in from the bullpen....
  18. GM, Firestone and Standard Oil were factors: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_American_streetcar_scandal
  19. If you go to Price Hill chili make sure you are either a.) an old person, or b.) a young person wearing purple (green is OK for females). Just say "Go Elder" a few times and you'll fit right in.
  20. Seems confusing to me, and those numbers all look a little high, but then again I don't work in downtown cincinnati and i'm sure the peak hours are 8-9am and 5-6pm. Is pedestrian congestion serious enough to warrant the expense?

That is just a gorgeous neighborhood. I can see why you talk it up all the time!
  22. Amen. Every advancement I've made in my admittedly young career is due directly to networking. You need to earn the trust of those you work with, and those you report to, and not be afraid to ask them to keep an eye out for you. Good things happen when you let others help you out. A successful recommendation not only helps you out, but it makes the person who recommended you look good as well. The key is live up to their expectations! To that end, a website like LinkedIn.com is an amazing tool that helps you organize and then leverage your network when you need it.

    at least dozens and dozens...

At the very least it was another blatant anti-city jab. At the worst it perpetuates harmful stereotypes and compares the residents of OTR w/ zoo animals.
  25. Farms? A green belt? We can dream right?
