AIDS programs hit with funding cuts Mansfield-based center has almost 300 clients BY LINDA MARTZ • NEWS JOURNAL • AUGUST 7, 2010 MANSFIELD -- Patients are being dropped from Ohio's HIV Drug Assistance program because of state funding cuts. This comes at a time when enrollment has more than doubled in five years. That scenario concerns Lori Robinson, regional director for AIDS Resource Center Ohio, which is based in Mansfield and serves 10 counties. There are 293 north central Ohio residents enrolled in Ohio's HIV Drug Assistance Program, she said. The AIDS Resource Center adds an average of five new clients each month, many of whom would be considered eligible under former guidelines, she said. Read More...
  3. I am glad that the levy passed and that Madison is getting a new Jr. High, but I wish they didn't have to tear down the old Jr.High. Madison Local will get new junior high building BY LOU WHITMIRE • NEWS JOURNAL • AUGUST 4, 2010 MADISON TOWNSHIP -- Voters approved a historic school bond issue Tuesday that will allow Madison Local Schools to build a new junior high school. Madison Junior High School was built in 1924, but will now be demolished. The Ashland Road facility had an eroding foundation, an antiquated heating and cooling system and asbestos. Residents OK'd a $35 million bond issue to build a new facility for students in grades 5 to 8. The new facility will be built on the site of the current Woo-ster Heights Elementary School. How can that be? He also blessed us with a high tolerance. I think it was the gays. Most likely, those gays always cause a bunch of problems.

There was a great mix of this song (similar to the one posted) at Axis in Columbus last Friday; very fun to dance to. :-D
  7. Thanks everyone! I can't wait to go back and discover more of the places I have already been and places I have yet to see.
  8. fool. I live in Indy now. Randy lives in the ATL. and Brian lives in NYC. And I'm still in Milwaukee. But may still be a credible threat. Thanks for the shots...there certainly are more than a few gems in downtown. I don't think that you could ever turn me away from Cleveland.
  9. ^The Huffington Post is actually well known, but I agree that the "journalist" doesn't know what he's talking about.
  10. The gnocchi at Trattoria is amazing and makes up for any of Trattoria's downfalls.
  11. I agree with most of Murray Hill's suggestions, but I think that Trattoria is a better option for dinner. I reccomend getting the gnocchi al burro.
  12. Thanks! No, I didn't see how expensive real estate was in Mt. Adams, but I imagined it was pretty expensive.
  13. Thanks and you're welcome!
  14. Thanks, and you should definitely check those places out. I wish I would have spent more time in Clifton, it is a really cool neighborhood.
  15. Thanks!
  16. Cincinnati Part 1 - Downtown Part 2 - OTR and UC Part 3 - Clifton and City West Part 4 - Mt. Adams After walking around City West, my friend and I headed for Eden Park, but I found the neighborhood to be really intriguing and decided to just check it out before going back home. This concludes my amazing trip to Cincinnati! The city was exciting, beautiful, and full of eye candy (hot boys and awesome architecture :D). I hope to go back sometime soon and enjoy more of what the city has to offer.
  17. Thanks for sharing your photos, they're great! I also went to the concert, but I didn't have my camera with me. Did anyone else think that the "Home" signs, speech, etc was a little sad/desperate? It was an awesome event!
  18. Oh, well, now I will know that for next time, thanks! Thanks! I also really liked Clifton. There are a lot of unique shops and the neighborhood is beautiful (and there is quite a bit of eye candy too :-D)

Great set! There was a good number of buildings being renovated on Race Street when I was in town, so I imagine that part of the potential will start to be fulfilled.
  20. Cincinnati Part 1 - Downtown Part 2 - OTR and UC Part 3 - Clifton and City West Part 4 - Mt. Adams On the second day of my trip, my friend and I went to Clifton. We were also going to go to Union Terminal, but I didn't want to pay for parking (or for getting into the museum, I am a cheap college student) so I just took a picture of it, drove towards downtown, and stumbled upon the City West development. Clifton Union Terminal City West Fix Me!

^I had a wonderful time! The city is beautiful; I love the architecture and the density of the city. Since I was downtown during the lunch rush, there were people everywhere and Fountain Square was packed. It was exciting to see so many people out and about. Also, the people in Cincy seemed to be really friendly. For example, if you accidentally made eye contact with someone, instead of just ignoring them or getting a "what are you looking at" look, they would smile and (sometimes) say, "hi." I hope that I can make another trip down some time soon. I am in the process of uploading pictures and already have some posted here, where you can find links to all of the different parts of my Cincinnati threads. Also, thanks again to everyone for the suggestions and advice that you all gave me. Without your help, my Cincinnati trip would not have been nearly as good as it was.
  22. nat - Thanks for all the information. Cleveland has a similar situation with local media lumping the entire east side into one category leading a lot of people to believe that the entire east side is dangerous, including the relatively safe neighborhoods of Little Italy, University Circle, and Shaker Square.
  23. That would be frightful!
  24. I don't think that's possible since I already am. lol.
  25. I thought that the city was amazing! The architecture was outstanding, the people were friendly, and the places I visited were exciting (with new development and activity). The only downside being the absence of some sort of rail (heavy or light) system in the city, but I understand that the city is working on a streetcar line, so that will change.
