Mansfield / Richland County: Development and News
Inconvenience will be worth it, most say BY LINDA MARTZ • NEWS JOURNAL MAY 6, 2010 MANSFIELD -- Pedestrians walking near Central Park have been forced to thread their way through lengthy mazes of caution tape fastened to orange barrels while the first phase of Mansfield's Streetscape project winds down. ... "I need it to be over, like now. It hurts us," she said. "There is limited parking right now. Customers are not going to walk all the way down the street." Read More... Sometimes I am surprised how lazy Americans (or Mansfielders) are, god forbid if you have to walk down the street!

Well, I had to make mulitple posts (there is a 1000 character limit), but I addressed some of the posters.

327 - Did you read the comments? Even you would have to agree that some of the posters were being irrational. KJP - Well, I had to go to class and haven't had internet access since I posted that earlier. I felt it would be better if someone addressed them sooner rather than later.

^Thanks for sharing, but can someone please pay a visit to the comments section and educate the uninformed posters? Thanks in advance.

What did you think of Acorn Alley? Also, did you happen to go down to the riverside park? If not, you should definitely explore the park. Say good bye to the fountain, it is being torn out when the plaza is redone. :(

Off Topic
I have bought a couple of clothing items from Target and I have not had problems with them. However, I do not usually go there to shop for clothes.

I call it Tar-je! Target offers a better shopping experience than Walmart and Target is higher quality. With that said, I don't see how people go in there for one item and end up spending over $100.

Best Movies Ever Made?
^I really like The Life of David Gale, it is a very unique story and the acting is excellent. I also happen to love Kate Winslet and Kevin Spacey.

Thanks urbanlife for all the information.

Amtrak & Federal: Passenger Rail News
Awesome, I wish I had the ability to take the train back home. Not that that would be an option for me because I am pretty sure the Ohio Hub Plan leaves out Mansfield and Kent (and Akron?).

Kent State University - Spring 2010
Thanks, and I wish that I would have known about that, I would have went to the presentation. Kent State isn't too bad, I really like front campus and the newer parts of campus can have their moments.

Best Movies Ever Made?
Avatar was good but the plot was just a modernized version of Pocahontas.

^Ok, just wanted to make sure. However, couldn't people essentially just get on and ride for free?

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
I have never really had a problem while using RTA, but I really do not like the machines and they are a hassle to use. The machines, however, do not make my experience with RTA a bad one and at least they are working to fix some of the problems. As for the height issue, could stands be made to raise the level of the machines, like the stands that are made for front loading washing/drying machines? Since I am not a daily rider, I am not really bothered my the announcements, but I do agree that some of them are too long and the "no body wants to hear what you are having for dinner" statement is really annoying. When I take the train downtown, I usually take the westbound Blue line and buy my ticket (an All Day pass) when I get to Tower City. Sometimes I decide to go to University Circle/Little Italy from downtown and I just take the Health Line. When I get on, do I have to swipe my ticket in the machine up front or something? Usually I just get on and take the bus to my destination without doing anything to verify that I have a ticket.

^That is stupid, but I prefer to use my debit card anyways; I usually never have exact change.

^I don't know, there is something on the first floor now, but I am not sure if they are open.

Kent / Kent State University: Development and News
I actually like it, I guess it just depends on your personal taste. I doubt it looks better in person because my pictures are amazing, lol. ;)

I think for the Blue/Green lines, if you are west bound, you have to pay when you get off the train or when you get to Tower City. If you are going east bound you pay at Tower City or pay when you get on the train. Also, I believe that the machines at Tower City accept cash, but you might need exact change. I don't know for sure because I always use my debit card.

Kent State University - Spring 2010
The night before May 4th there is silent, candle light walk, which starts and ends in the Taylor Hall parking lot. The day of May 4th classes after 12 are cancelled and there is a May 4th event held by the victory bell. Both events are open to the public.

Kent State University - Spring 2010
That's what I thought you meant and I feel like I should clarify that I took these on a Friday afternoon, meaning the "attractions" were either in class, recovering from the night before, or on their way home for the weekend.
