Cleveland: Innerbelt News
I wish ODOT would consider the above plan, I hate that awful downtown interchange. Also, Tremont wouldn't feel so isolated from the rest of the world (well, Cleveland) if this plan was adopted. If not this plan then the southern alignment plan that you posted would also be great. Has ODOT released any images of what their plan might look like?

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
No problem, just a little misunderstanding (on both sides). Also, I think that most people who would support a faster train speed would also support a conventional train speed, so there wouldn't be a big difference. Not that I think that it really matters because I agree with KJP; that you have to establish a conventional speed line before you develop a high speed line. Besides, most of the people I have talked to, prefer cheap fares and frequent service over high speed. I think that most people would rather take a comfortable ride between the 3C's at a fair price over driving down 71 (where one can't really travel at a constant speed because one will eventually hit traffic or construction and will be forced to slow down or stop completely). So, in sum, I think that speed is not as big of a deal as you and others are making it out to be and is a last priority (as others have stated and as history has shown).

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
Ok, but in the post that I quoted, you said Ohioans support the high-speed 3C plan, when in reality they support passenger train service (in general) between the 3C's.

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
According to this site, 64% of Ohioans support re-establishing passenger train service between the 3C's, there was no mention of the train speed.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
I think that it really sucks that RTA has a possible deficit of $18 million, but isn't the state of Ohio also facing a budget crisis? With that in mind, how can I ask my local representatives to increase public transit funding when they just cut funding in a number of areas (the libraries for example)? Could we decrease funding for something to increase funding for transit? If so, then what program do we cut from? Oh, and does RTA get funding from the other counties that it serves?

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
He is a buffoon, he refuses to listen to logic. Whenever I write him and ask him to support public transit, he says that we shouldn't have to give subsidies to transportation, as if highways and airports don't receive subsidies. I don't think that he will ever change his mind.

Mansfield - Woodland Part 2
Thanks! LAsam - You're welcome! Ink - Have you ever been to the neighborhood to the west of MedCentral (and east of Marion Ave)? It is really nice and filled with a lot of brick homes and apartments. Also, I don't know anyone who calls it "The Boulevards", most people refer to that area as Parkwood.

Mansfield - Woodland Part 1
Thanks! Columbusite - Mansfield has some wonderful residential neighborhoods (The Boulevards/Parkwood, the MedCentral area, this one, etc.) and a pretty nice downtown.

Unions: News & Discussion
What about the unions who refuse to do work, but when a city decides to have outside help to do the job, the unions go ape sh!t and sue the city over the job that they weren't doing and then continue not to do said job after they win the lawsuit? It seems to me that unions no longer do what they were originally intended to do, which was fight for fair wages, fair hours, and work safety. Not only that, but it seems that some members feel that they won't ever lose their job so they do ridiculous things like clocking in on the weekends (overtime) and then go out and play softball all weekend instead of working (essentially they are getting paid overtime to play a game and drink beer). Also, their job performance is sub-par or they feel comfortable enough to sleep on the job. Now, I am not saying that all workers are like that, but it happens to much and if it didn't, maybe GM wouldn't be leaving Mansfield.

Ohio's Cities and Immigration: What will it take?
Oh, like california. Gays might not be able to get married in California, but they can still get a civil union. Ohio has outlawed ANY legal recognition of gay couples. This discriminatory law doesn't exactly encourage people to migrate to the state.

Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
Instead of having a foot patrol in UC maybe there should be a bike patrol. It would be easier for cops to get around UC on a bike and it would increase police presence.

Can a BRAC effort save local GM plant? Comparable situations? Public vs. Private By AL LAWRENCE • News Journal correspondent • June 22, 2009 MANSFIELD -- While 4th District Rep.
