Pet Peeves!
I love flip flops, they are so comfortable. However, I would never wear them to work or when I have to do a lot of walking (I learned that from one of my trips to Cleveland).

Your Daily Commute
The only time I use my car is when I go to visit my friends in Akron or when I go home for the weekend. I walk to my classes and anywhere else I need to go on or off campus (I go to KSU). Sometimes I take the bus around campus or to the stadium.

Rethinking Transport in the USA
Nice little article in the Mansfield News Journal. Virgil Stanfield: With soaring gas prices, maybe streetcars are the way to go By VIRGIL A. STANFIELD • News Journal • September 14, 2008 Editor's Note: Gasoline prices well above $3.75 per gallon may have some area residents longing for the days of streetcars and trolleys. This column by the late Virgil A. Stanfield, a former News Journal managing editor, was published Oct. 31, 1943, in the midst of gasoline and tire rationing during World War II. MANSFIELD -- The gasoline and tire famine must be making a lot of Mansfielders recall how handy it was to be able to ride downtown on a streetcar, or to Shelby, Ashland or Bucyrus on the trolley.

Where does everybody go at 11 p.m. on a Saturday?`
^^That is really sad. Why didn't you go out? ^I meant that it was inconvenient in the sense that I just drove down from Kent to Mansfield and then would have to go up to Cleveland.

Did you know there are now five oceans? How about a comma before "and"?
Well, there are many different styles (MLA or APA) and both have different standards when it comes to commas and the like. For clarity, however, it is better to use a comma when writing something in a series. Also, some teachers will have different guidelines when it comes to punctuation. They also have different standards for typing; some require a double space after a sentence, others don't.

KStay2- Would you rather me be an 18 year old alcoholic? MayDay- I have drank before (it was in Mexico, so it was legal), but I know my limit. Most the people I know that drink, drink to get drunk (like so drunk that you pass out or lose your memory); which I don't find appealing. What's the point in having a "good" time when you can't even remember what happened? MTS- The only time I really drank was when I was in Mexico. I mainly had mixed drinks and shots of tequila. I don't really like drinking anything else.

That's one of the few urban issues we forumers might be able to address. You should let us know when you turn 21, so we can schedule a forum meet to remedy the situation. :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :-D Will do, too bad it is three years away. lol

I love Taco Bell! Mainly because it is cheap, they're open late, and I am now a poor college student! MTS- maybe you can't eat Taco Bell because you're, you know, not as young as some of us...

Suburban Sprawl News & Discussion
^I hated that comment. I didn't choose Kent State because of its "suburban" atmosphere, I chose it because of its architecture program (which is irrelevant now that I changed my major). I wish that it were more like Akron's campus, at least they have things to do that are within walking distance. I think that the author should have stuck with the small-town charm comment, that is more appealing than the "benefits" of the suburbs.

Where does everybody go at 11 p.m. on a Saturday?`
Yea, and my friend and I had an awesome time. Well, there was a moment where this creeper tried to grind with my friend and I, but we avoided him and continued dancing. I didn't even stay for 15 minutes, it was closer to 5 minutes. It was so boring; they played crappy music, stood around, drank cheap beer (not that I drink cause I am only 18 ), and did nothing fun. The only way anyone could have enjoyed themselves is if they were smashed, which made up the majority of the party goers. Oh, and the house was a piece of s***. The bathroom was horrible, there were holes in the floor, and I have no idea how people live there.

Last night I visited my friends in Akron. Hung out with them, went to a frat party, got bored (breeders standing around and drinking is not my cup of tea), then walked to the Interbelt and danced until like 2 and then made my way back to Kent.

AK Steel - Mansfield
KJP- Yes, it is still active. However, there are plans to tear down part of the plant that is no longer in use. Btw, I didn't even get pictures of the whole facility, there is a section by the highway that I, for some unknown reason, didn't take pictures of.

AK Steel - Mansfield
These photos are from about a year ago. My friend and I walked through north Mansfield (For some reason I didn't take pictures of that neighborhood) and for some reason we decided to go under St. Rt. 30 and walk the length of the AK Steel complex.
