Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Since the dome stadium project in Brookpark seems to be a forgone conclusion, then I think the Haslem's should pay for the cost of demolishing Huntington Bank stadium. That parcel of lakefront land is extremely valuable and ready to be developed.

Cleveland / Northeast Ohio: "What If/Hypothetical/Dream" Construction and Projects Discussion
They should move the port of Cleveland to the very eastern end of Burke. This move would allow the port better access to rail and highway while keeping major cargo traffic away from downtown. With the port relocated, the city then would have plenty of valuable lakefront property available residential, recreational and commercial development that can be accessible to the Cuyahoga river and lakefront. Burke then can be developed in phases because of the vast amount of available property. It should probably start out as a large public park with ponds(nature observational areas), picnic and recreational areas with a continuous boardwalk and fishing piers with public boating docking facilities.

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
The city should really look at moving the port facilities to the very eastern edge of Burke. Then the dome stadium can be built where the port is now. I'm sure they can infill the dock spaces that currently exist and demo the current stadium which could give them plenty of prime lakefront real estate for commercial & recreational development. Closing Burke would probably take at least 5 years to complete. But constructing a port on all the new landfill at the eastern end of the airport could probably be accomplished much faster. Once Burke is closed then the City & County officials can have a blank slate to properly develop our lakefront that the whole region could have access to and enjoy.

Does anyone know if they'll be apartments that will wrap around that parking garage? I haven't seen the original plan.

Cleveland: Downtown: Playhouse Square Development and News
The Target store located in Woodmere on Chagrin Blvd is the perfect example of a smaller format express store (33,000 sq. ft.) that would be perfect for downtown Cleveland. The store is well stock with the necessities needed for apartment living and its always clean and well maintained.

I agree 100% This discussion should be in a political forum and certainly not this one.

I think this topic has been discussed at nauseum! Has anyone seen the latest progress of the w.44th and Apple Ave townhomes that are under construction lately? These are located right next to the Sherwin Williams store on w.44th & Lorain Ave.

Has GLBC even considered maybe building their production facility on Opportunity Corridor?

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
The Haslam's may be trying to gain leverage. They are still assembling land for the Brown's practice facility and entertainment venue. Besides, if they somehow manage to get a new "domed" stadium built, then were probably looking at maybe another couple of years before shovels are in the ground and an additional 2 years of construction. there are still a whole lot of moving parts that would have to fall into place before we start to panic. Worst case scenario is that we get a shiny new domed stadium that is 12 miles from downtown with good highway & public transportation connections. Best case scenario is that when the new stadium is built then that would make way for the old stadium to get knocked down to make room for housing, hotels, public parks and other entertainment options. Look at it this way. Between the Guardians, Cavs, the concerts and other events that happen downtown annually. we'll, that's over 230 or more events a year. Additionally, you can include Playhouse sq. into that metric as well and then there is also Cleveland States immanent construction of their new all-purpose arena on its campus which also is not only the home of the CSU Vikings sports teams but also the Cavaliers G-league team the "Charge". And the " cherry on top" is that there are serious discussions about of the possibility of getting a new professional women's soccer team and stadium built somewhere downtown as well. Cleveland will win out either way!

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
This may sound crazy but why can they use crushed rock and soil from somewhere else instead of relying on dredging material. Look how much soil that has been removed so far from the Irish Bend stabilization project. I think 30 years is a long time to wait for a landfilled lakefront park to come into fruition.

I think reducing the number of city council seats to 11 could work. You then would have 5 wards each for the east & west side with downtown being 1.

Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
This city should build a transit center on the land behind Tower City and have it connected to the rapid stations. You can probably re-route most of the buses that would traverse around Public Square which would probably eliminate some of the commuter traffic off of Ontario and in front of the Jack casino.
