Cleveland: Opportunity Corridor Boulevard
I hate this tax for the roads argument. I own a house, drive a car, and work. I pay taxes for roads. Stop it.

Cycling Advocacy
I agree with this comment. Also, a lot of drivers do not understand the concept of taking the lane and they view it as a cyclist being a jerk. They only thing I think about when biking is my own safety. I am unconcerned with trying to be a jerk to someone driving.

Cycling Advocacy
^ True about riding 2 abreast but it does not excuse running into a cyclist.

Cycling Advocacy
I saw this video on Twitter and there's a lot of victim blaming tweets following it. It's typical for people who never ride a bike to have some animosity towards cyclists.

They could rename the southern part of the state Sohio. Sorry, I had to do it.

Cleveland: Asiatown: Development and News
There had been some talk about putting a sign on the rail overpass but nothing seems to have come from that.

Lakewood: Development and News
I looooooove the Carnegie high rise proposal but I could live with the mid rise as well. I like how the rounded corner pays homage to the Lakewood Hospital building. I don't love the Casto proposal as much but it is a great proposal still. I will be excited to see any of these pan out. I appreciate how the Curtis Block is being incorporated into the plan and the plaza in both proposals looks great.

Lakewood: Development and News
The mystery is over. Two finalists for the hospital site. http://www.onelakewood.com/downtownrfq/ I didn't like the idea of a setback at first either but I must admit that both proposals look great. Edit: nice sleuthing work KJP[/member]

Cleveland: General Business & Economic News
How these wealthy Cleveland-area families acquired their fortunes http://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/index.ssf/2017/07/how_these_wealthy_cleveland_fa.html#incart_m-rpt-1 This seemed like the best place for this article. Mods feel free to move it if it is off topic. I am always fascinated by the history of wealth in the Cleveland region. It seems like some notable names are missing from the list but still very interesting.

Cleveland Mayoral Race 2017
My guess is that some of his signatures weren't valid. But if he is having a hard time getting 3,000 signatures, I wonder how robust his campaign organization is.

Cleveland Mayoral Race 2017
Tony Madalone has until 4pm to submit an additional 1,096 signatures to get on the ballot. http://www.cleveland.com/naymik/index.ssf/2017/07/tough_talking_t-shirt_guy_tony.html#incart_m-rpt-1

Cleveland: Old Brooklyn Neighborhood Discussion
I've always liked old Brooklyn. It seems relatively stable. Home values will probably be stable as well I don't forsee any huge swings in values there either increasing or decreasing. There seems to be some new small businesses opening there and the location is convenient to big box shopping in Parma / Brooklyn and Steel yard Commons.

Cleveland: Warehouse District: Development and News
Agree. I've met him a few times and my impression is that he just looks for ways to get some free money but doesn't want to do any actual development.

Cleveland Mayoral Race 2017
^ I'd find it hard to believe that there are very many city employees that make less than $15 per hour but perhaps some clerks and part-time workers.

Cleveland Mayoral Race 2017
^ That is just for city employees.

^ Stark may need to get some level of height/density because of how much he paid for the land. My guess is that he waits until 515 Euclid is nearing completion and starts leasing up but we shall see.

Cleveland Mayoral Race 2017
^ I didn't say that it was an act. Merely that it might be an act. I guess what I want to say is that Johnson comes across as very polished and wants to focus on neighborhood development over downtown development. I don't know that I agree with that but he appears to be the best politician in the group of challengers.

^ Ohio, unfortunately, is in the group of states that does not have left lane passing laws.

Cleveland Mayoral Race 2017
I don't live in Cleveland myself (Lakewood) but I like to keep up with the politics. From the people running, I really like Tony M. He seems to have a fresh approach but I worry about his lack of experience. Jeff Johnson seems to really be playing things correctly. He does come off as a seasoned politician. I mean that in a good way. His social media was filled with photos from the Pride festival over the weekend. He seemed to really enjoy being there and had his rainbow shirt on. I know this might all be "an act" but I think he might be the most serious challenger.
