  1. First it looks like its not getting smaller, its more efficient. And good luck trying to convince Kentucky to abandon an airport so a new one can be built in Ohio.
  2. I think the consolidation makes a lot of sense. Maintaining two separate terminals and the costly tram and the additional moving sidewalks is inefficient. And if you look at the plan on the pdf, the proposed larger terminal A would be as big if not bigger than the existing B (I would not assume it would have the same proportions as the existing A). It means they can have better options for retail since all passengers will be in one terminal, and it also means that pedestrian time will be reduced, and they have more space for plane operations at the site of the former B. They are basically trying to modify the facilities and passenger experience from hub to regional airport. I don't think they are planning for shrinking (as you can see from the graph they expect modest annual growth), just consolidation for efficiency.
  3. I have been in that room. It is huge, 2 stories, and has great views, but was grossly outdated in 2010.
  4. They just had their highest attendance average ever, last year. So, no. Edit: Per this site http://cincyontheprowl.com/2015/11/17/build-will-come-uc-sets-program-attendance-record/ the attendance record for 2015 that was just set was 37,096, don't know about Ryan's numbers.
  5. I would guess either Pendleton's or Broadway if they go local, or some version of "Rock Gaming" if they are going to try to build an empire ala Hollywood Casino.
  6. Place this in here just to stir the pot a bit... http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php/topic,28327.msg757210.html#msg757210
  7. Where is Vine Street on that elevation?
  8. Don't expect that from her.
  9. Fairfield Inn is confirmed for a different site... we are not talking about conflicting information.
  10. Not Fairfield Inn, and MUCH taller. I only got a quick glance, so can't speak to how it deals with elevation and street.
  11. Yes. This is the bit of land bounded by Calhoun, Scioto, McMillan, and Vine St/Jefferson. Excited to hear what it will be. I remember the original plans were for a movie theater. Hotel
  12. Big news coming on the former McDonalds/ Primetime site. Tall and new to the area.
  13. I can't believe this is where Northstar is looking to break into the Southwest Ohio market. I think that restaurant could do gangbusters further south.
  14. I read somewhere that over 80% of Cranley's campaign funds were from Republican donors. I think he is trying to appease his backers so they will still support him in the future. I find it very hard to believe that his actual beliefs fully align with his grandstanding.
  15. Does anyone know if an open container district needs to be contiguous? As in, could Main and Vine Streets in OTR be open container, Fountain Square, and then the Banks, with nothing in between?
  16. I believe in Portland the streetcar is free within the basin (at least it was when I was there last). SO if you are not paying, and you see that a streetcar is coming then it is understandable to hop on and off. If other cities have similar plans, then I can see how it could skew the numbers.
  17. ^ As soon as you go higher than 3 stories you are required to fire sprinkle, which can be a high cost.
  18. It depends on his design team...
  19. While the airline is called Branson Air, it will provide service to large cities like Houston, Denver, Chicago, etc.
  20. Any guesses? (Other than Jet Blue or Southwest)
  21. Interesting thought. I think it would be easier to remove the street on the far right and anyone going north on Moore Street to McMicken could take Walnut/Lang to McMicken. That would essentially shift the triangular piece to the right, and make the street a little wider with two-way traffic. A sidewalk/path could be preserved around the west side of the building to keep a "shortcut" to McMicken by foot. Thoughts on that? To me it would depend on what is more valuable from a use standpoint, more park or a triangular building? The 90 degree intersection would help to slow traffic through the area as well.
  22. ^^^ Why not remove the cut through street (Lang?) altogether and make the park even larger?
