An Ohio culture?
I'm all about preserving my heritage but probably less about including family members in the set up of my wedding reception!:) I just want them to come and have a good time. Knowing some of them as well as I do(great aunt) there would be stressful moments and people rushing around while she was barking out orders, probably in german,to non german speaking family members about the proper set up of a cookie table and why this cookie did not taste the way she thinks it should and so on... Not a relaxing time!

Ugly Drug Stores
The cvs in bexley is a pretty decent version of a more urban drugstore. I believe there is also one in worthington that is ok.

An Ohio culture?
Right now I'm in the midst of planning my wedding so its ironic that the cookie tables came up. I just had a conversation with my great aunt who is a 4th(?) generation german american. She insisted that we have a cookie table as that is the german thing to do. I doubt I will but in her eyes it is a german tradition and became more americanized(different cookies) over the years.

Bowling Green State University: Development and News
I've been saying the same thing to my friends about the capacity! I read that this was going to be very similar to gonzagas "kennel" which is a nice venue for a private school that has an enrollement of about 4500. A little different than a state school with an enrollment of about 22,500. They need to bump up the capacity to about 8,000 if they are really interested in playing with the big boys.

your exactly right. my whole point is that you can find good properties in the village for a variety of budgets not just high priced. The majority of my friends live in german village,as do i and we certainly aren't high rollers. I just think sometimes people just see the price tags on city park or beck street and get scared away from moving here.

Right like i said, buying a house is steep but for renting its actually fairly reasonable for what you are getting. It also depends on the location. The majority of my friends pay on the average of around 850 to 900 for 2-3 bedrooms. I have a friend who lives in schumaker place 5-6 blocks from where that house is that pays 600 for pretty much an identical house on the outside. Not as many amenities on the inside.I'm just saying compare that to something in dublin or powell for rent and you have pretty much the same prices for a much better area.

Seriously, the rent is not that bad depending on what you're looking for. Housing prices are a little steep but if you're looking to rent in columbus compare gv to any of the other villages, short north ,or large burbs and you will find some great deals for what you are getting.

Dublin, Ohio
I believe the majority of buildings in "old " dublin are original. They definately have gone through some rehab and the new construction in the area is designed to blend in with the old. This is at least the word I've gotten from people who grew up in the area long before it was even considered a columbus suburb. Muirfield Village, sawmill rd,and tartan fields are quite a different story.:)

Columbus wedding reception locales
You beat me to it! I've attended a couple of receptions at the north bank park pavillion and it really is a great setting. 250 may be pushing it a little but the last one I attended had seating for 200 and as long as the weather is nice it wouldn't be a problem.

Home Depot to close 15 stores, 2 in Ohio
I haven't been to lima in quite some time but the area around the american mall could definately have used one of those big boxes to spur traffic if my memory is correct.

Columbus: Cooper Stadium Redevelopment
I'm not opposed to the plan. This could really pump some money into franklinton and spur growth in the area.Although the noise factor could be a hinderence in attracting people to live in a close proximity to a racetrack.I definately think this is the best plan so far for the coop and for the areas economy.

Home Depot to close 15 stores, 2 in Ohio
One item to note is that both findlay and lima have a menards store which i'm sure takes alot of home depots buisness. I know in findlay lowes, home depot, and menards are all located with in 2 miles of each other. Thats not including sears, walmart, meijer, etc.. Thats a large amount of saturation for a town of 40,000.
