I'll donate $10 in David's name, you donate another $10, then Rick can give him grey stars, and he'll feel like a real Urban Ohesian!

RiverViewer replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & Construction^I wish the snowball effect were true, but all it takes is another three days of riots, and you can throw all of it away. That said, I don't think we're anywhere near where we were in 2001, so I'm not worried about that - and the city learned a lot from that experience, and hopefully would keep things from getting that crazy again - but still, it wouldn't take much to destroy everything again...- Cincinnati: Restaurant News & Info

RiverViewer replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & EntertainmentI've never made reso's at Ambar, but no harm in calling to ask: 281.7000. If I were looking for cheap eats a step above Chipotle, I'd probably choose Ambar myself. Tink's is pricey, but it's also quite good, and has a full bar. Arlin's has food all the time now too, doesn't it? That'd be cheap + full bar!- Ohio unemployment numbers
Upthread a ways, the stories were referencing numbers that were not seasonally adjusted - not sure about these latest figures, though.- Origin of your Screen Name?

RiverViewer replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & EntertainmentDinner at Bootsy's tonight...meh. We were in a cool booth, but it was 20 minutes to get a drink order in, and the service was slow all night. Food was inventive, but honestly, not all that. We had a variety of tapas, and I got some sushi rolls - the Ruby Roll was good, but I enjoy Apsara or Beluga a lot more. All in all, kind of disappointing - glad we went, but meh. Oh, and they share their valet with the Aronoff - we left the restaurant to quite a line...should have parked at the Fountain Square garage. I'd go back for a fun appetizer and drinks, but not for dinner.- Pet Peeves!
That's a great answer, I must admit. I think what makes it feel like a pain is that you aren't headed in your intended direction, you know? If I'm at CWRU and want to head south, I can drive for 5-7 minutes north on MLK, then 3-5 minutes west before I start heading south - just feels like wasted time, you know? Or 15 minutes east to get to 271; or hit the lights on Chester or Euclid, and spend between 5 and 10 minutes going west. I guess it's investing time not heading in the direction you're intending that rubs at me, I guess. I should just take 105th / Quincy / Woodhill / 93rd / Harvard...would cost me ten minutes, but I'd feel better about it!- Pet Peeves!
^Well...it is kinda hard to get to if you're coming from a ways away...I want to agree with the sentiment, and I'm thrilled that the highway never screwed up Cleveland's east side the way it did Cincinnati's, but that doesn't mean it's not a pain to get to University Circle...- Roebling Suspension Bridge
I know I went off on the glory of these shots elsewhere, but they're well worth more of the same! Just a killer set...I love #2 especially!- Columbus and Cincinnati Randomness

No, my understanding is that it just wasn't used anymore, and it's less expensive to maintain a grassy field than a water-filled reservoir - more useful too!- Spring Break '09 Cincinnati, USA Part 2 of 2
