  1. Ah, wonderful stuff! And that last shot - wow, just beautiful. Of course, I'm a sucker for colorful skies, the river and the Roebling, so how could that not be my favorite shot? Thank you so much for the pictures! I think most of the boats here were diesel engines powering the paddlewheels, but we did a dinner cruise on the Natchez, which is a true steam-powered ship, where the crew communicates by telegraphy and everything. That's an impressive machine...
  2. So we really ain't looking very good... Of course, I do wonder WTF that roughing the passer call was about. Tackling the dude with the ball is now considered "roughing?" What a horse shit call...
  3. The only appeal to this project for me is density...the buildings are ugly and uninspired, utterly disconnected from the neighborhood, out of character...and now they're not even going to be their own dense little neighborhood? And may I ask, WTF happened to this rendering?

although Friday was very windy, the wagon was steady even when I took it on I-69 in an elevated, open area. ...yeah, that had to be a new experience after driving a Ranger! Actually, the truck I drove for years was a Ranger as well...and when I moved to a sedan after that, I really noticed a difference. While the ranger didn't see around everything out there, it was a lot higher than the sedan... It's always great to spend that first 100 miles or so in a new car, and still dig it! Congrats!
  5. Yeah, I'm not saying you're wrong, My Two Sense, I just don't understand how one single event can utterly reverse inexorable demographic trends that span millions of people and decades of time...what exactly did the Olympics do to arrest population decline, and how did that keep going over the years following it? Again, I'm not saying it didn't, just that I don't understand.
  6. Weird - I've never heard of St. Eeler before... Lovely pictures, by the way...I especially dug this one:
  7. Not sure who 4 is, but I doubt Pete Rose wants him "in" him...

The sentence was stayed, not commuted...sorry to hear that, but very happy you're still downtown!
  9. The Carter Center was pretty damn cool...I really dug that when I went. And we stayed in a neighborhood near downtown with all these cool little single-family houses, reminded me of a flat Norwood, only with bigger porches...a couple cool parks, went to some very fun little bars in some little indie-entertainment area... Not a place I'd be likely to visit on its own merits, but I very much enjoyed the time I spent there, and would happily go back if I had reason to. Oh, and I understand it's got the biggest gay club complex thing anywhere. Like, 24 hours, tons of bars, kind of like that one in Louisville only bigger. The drag show in Louisville was fantastic, hilarious, loads of fun, and I understand the best acts from there are trying to get to Atlanta...so if you're into huge gay clubs, there's that too...
  10. Bootsy Collins is swiftly becoming Mr. Cincinnati...which is fantastic!

You get a Gold Star! (hyuk hyuk) Very pretty...I'm with Grasscat, that 2nd one is just gorgeous...I could just sink into the colors...thank you so much for posting them!

Wow...how do you get anything done at work? Just phenomenal... Say, weren't you supposed to start working somewhere suburban by now? Did you get a reprieve?

Trucks are great, but I'd imagine this will give you better gas mileage...though the thing I missed most about not driving a truck was sitting so much lower. If you spend any time in traffic, it can drive you nuts - can't see anything.
  14. Mr. Good Day - that picture with the snow in it is spectacular! Wow, what a cool feel to it...
  15. Even if it were your debt, Montgomery Wards has been out of business for a while now...derogatory information is not allowed to report for any longer than seven years from what's called the "Date of First Delinquency." Basically, that's the first bill that wasn't paid. If the account shows a date later than 2001 (when the last Wards store closed), that means the account may have been re-aged, which is illegal, and could entitle you to somewhere around $1200 for an FCRA violation...
  16. That's all just absolutely fantastic. And remember, Brutus Buckeye suggested the Bengals game thing here over a month ago! http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php?topic=3275.msg122810#msg122810
  17. Also, I think HOAs are a creepy, regressive afront to the spirit of the constitution of the United States of America and the letter of about every local law vetted by due process, and that anybody who signs away their rights to an HOA is a nincompoop and deserves what they get. Harumph. Yes! Amen! Well said, right straight down to the harumph!

Oh, very cool...I take it you're enjoying your new major and college!

I have no idea what that means.

Where'd you see the rendering? That's fantastic...Surrey Square has always been so depressing...seems to me like it really makes the whole area around it seem awfully ghetto, just by association...
  21. Oh, that was in no way a complaint at all...just a wish! This is definitely way cool...
  22. Holy Moley - that's fantastic! The only thing that would be better would be digitizing the whole paper, not just articles, and not just articles on certain topics. I'd love to see editorials and letters to the editor from the 1930's or something...the little stuff, the day-to-day...some day...
  23. David, just so you know, CBCS didn't put it on your credit bureau, the credit bureaus did. CBCS reports data to the bureaus, gives the name/address/ssn/previous address/whatever else they have on file. The credit bureaus then take that data and try to match it to an existing profile. That's all proprietary software, and CBCS has absolutely nothing to do with it. And in fact, it's extremely likely that you're not the victim of identity theft at all, but just have personal data that's a bit too similar to someone else's. You can file a Consumer Dispute Verification, and that will probably clear it all up, within 30 days tops. Unless it's actually your debt - some utility bill you forgot about or something. By the way, I think you're right, they should be reporting the originator of the debt...
  24. Just went to the Universal Grill last night. They have mini-burgers for an appetizer - three mini-hamburgers, on a roll, with cheese, a slice of tomato, a piece of lettuce, and some yummy sauce...flawless bar food! Their other offerings looked great too...very good choice!
