Wow...that's just much further up the hill than I thought, gauging from the relative height of the Kroger building...how about that! Great trivia question, Don - you got us all out looking at maps, lining up PNC with Carew with Kroger! Nowhere near as clever a question as Don's, but this is one of my favorite benches ever, and since I haven't had an excuse to post it before, how about now?

Personally, I speak for all overweight, out of shape drunk guys who pretend to love the outdoors despite never actually, you know, camping or hiking and stuff...

Modern Roundabouts in Ohio
In most of the traffic circles I'm familiar with, the major road's through-traffic gets the right-of-way. So in Sharon Center, the traffic either northbound or southbound on 94 gets to cruise straight through; the traffic either eastbound or westbound on 162 yields. These are different, because instead of worrying about which road is doing the intersecting, all enterers yield... So it's all right-hand turns, which are safer and faster; the rules are clear (just yield if you're coming up on it); and there's no unnecessary stopping...very cool.

Thus far we've shown we can play with the Mets - we're 3 and 4 against them...but in the one three-gamer we've played with the Dodgers, we got swept... Our 10-game west coast trip will tell us a lot about this team...hopefully we're just waiting to peak until the right time...

Case Western ranked highest in the state
No, I'd imagine Case would beat out Cedarville for general partying...which is almost like saying the nano technology research done at Lakeland Community College is superior to the nanotech done at Cincinnati State...

They keep saying Emery Village is one building...it's gotta be the whole set of six buildings, or else the units would have to average 250 square feet...

Population of Toledo dips below 300,000
I'm leaning C-Dawg's way overall here (though comparing between numbers presented as "1%" is like fingernails on a chalkboard to anyone who's spent any time with statistics...one significant digit is utterly beyond insufficient when that one digit is 1...the two values could differ nearly by a factor of 3 (0.5 --> 1.49), and still appear equivalent), but I did just want to point out a little rhetorical knot you've woven for yourself: So, which is it? They share a news chopper, or they don't share a news chopper? (Sorry...most irrelevant thing I've posted in ages!)

Cincinnati: Walnut Hills: Emery Village
I live a block or two away from there, and yes, I love the area. It's tough to get more convenient than here - very quick highway access, very quick downtown access, bus lines, plus a couple gas stations, a UDF, a Kroger, good dining, fast food, parks, etc., etc. And now the quality housing stock is moving north of Nassau, and I'm thrilled!

Is Over-the-Rhine As Bad As They Say?
Amen. And the better off everything around it will be too. Since the riots and the police slowdown, OTR has become a complete criminal sink hole. Yes, clearing that out will push some crime to the surrounding areas - but as it is, that crime radiates to Walnut Hills and Mt. Auburn and the West End and Price Hill anyway. I can't imagine the net effect of a safe and healthy OTR on the surrounding neighborhoods would be anything but positive.

Cincinnati: Walnut Hills: Emery Village
Yeah, I don't think anything had yet mentioned Emery Village - that's new data. But no, seems like it's officially a project, not just speculation, so I'd think having its own thread is appropriate! And, by the way, here are affordable condo's right near downtown...4-5 minute walk to Eden Park, 15-20 minute walk to Mt. Adams, 20-30 minute walk to downtown (or a 90 second bus ride, with the stop immediately across the street), next door to Andy's Mediterranean, $85K-$150K, low HOA fees...everything someone could want, all in beautiful Walnut Hills!

For $150/ticket, you can probably do it. Check eBay, 333-SEAT...don't know where you'll sit, but I'm sure you can get in the stadium for that much.
