  1. Grasscat's been following this in the Random Developments thread for a while now, but this is great to see exactly what the plans are! One thing - they say, "One building, to be called Emery Village Condominiums, is near Eden Park along Gilbert Avenue and Nassau Street." Er...29 units in one building? The largest building is 2202 Gilbert, which is around 6500 square feet...225 square foot units for everyone! What they must mean is one development, one cluster of buildings...which for Emery Village, should be all of the buildings inside this red triangle, with the exception of the yellow/shaded building (which is Andy's Mediterranean): For reference, here's links to Random Developments posts: Grasscat's initial post - it's the top story of this update: http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php?topic=333.msg78889#msg78889 Here's a post with pictures of the houses from the auditor's page: http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php?topic=333.msg78918#msg78918 Painting updates: http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php?topic=333.msg99537#msg99537 http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php?topic=333.msg99633#msg99633 http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php?topic=333.msg108014#msg108014 http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php?topic=333.msg111168#msg111168 And then Grasscat alerting us to these places having condo's for sale: http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php?topic=333.msg112797#msg112797
  2. Given the pink flamingo's, I'd have to guess Parma.
  3. ^I ran away to the seminary after two years...
  4. Actually, I had that same version... I had some combination of housing and industry and such that threw off money every year, but was a highly non-ideal city that would sustain itself. So I'd start that up and let it run over a weekend, just building up cash while the people got angrier and angrier. Once I had hundreds of millions of dollars in the bank, then I could build a utopian city that hemmoraged cash, but made be extremely popular...that was kinda fun...
  5. ...but Norwood blows? Contradiction, thy name is David!
  6. Yes. And in Milwaukee, the race is live.
  7. Wow...I certainly don't support vandalism, but if ever there were a flawless idea for graffiti, you've got it...

Yeah, I liked him...always seemed nice, and I guess that's my primary criterion...though I read a comment where someone said he seemed to bring out the worst in Marty, and that seemed about right to me - I haven't enjoyed Marty this year nearly as much as in years past, and I wonder how much of it is due to the relationship he has with Steve...I still love him, just not as much as in years past...
  10. I'm with you on that one, no doubt.
  11. Yes, the Indian Hill water tower. I don't remember what street it's off of - I forgot where I was when I took it! But yes, that's right... I don't have any more pictures handy - can someone else do the next one?
  12. There are tickets available on eBay, but they are definitely pricey...
  13. ^Er...yes, indeed! Do you know which one?
  14. ^indeed it does, second to only Toledo in Ohio. Do you have a link for that? I thought Lorain was the biggest Hispanic population by percent (21%), so I'd be interested in actual figures for population change, but don't see anything handy for 1990 or 2005 data.
  15. There is no bottom. Butte's population is still plummeting, faster than Cincinnati or Dayton. Butte looks like an interesting example of the census's estimates seeming wack. The census says the population of Butte-Silver Bow was 33,336 in 1990, grew by 1.7% to 33,892 by 2000, but then over the last five years reversed itself and fell 4.75% to 32,282. Is that possible? Of course. It's just that everywhere you look, it seems like the census's estimates are out of line with what one expects, showing massively accelerating population loss, and in Butte's case, even when the recent trend had been positive. Of course, looking back a little further, Butte's 1980 population was 37,205...maybe the 1990's were an abberation...
  16. How about this one?

Wow...I always liked Steve...maybe the first guy to replace Joe was really just there to take the hit, so the next guy would be compared with him, not with Joe...here's also a RedLegNation post with a round-up... Radio booth has empty seat Stewart told he won't be back with Marty next year BY KEVIN KELLY | ENQUIRER STAFF WRITER There will be a new voice coming from the Reds radio booth next season. Reds chief operating officer John Allen informed broadcaster Steve Stewart on Friday that the team would not be renewing his contract. Stewart, 43, signed a two-year deal when the Reds hired him in February 2004, and in September received a one-year extension. 18. Wow - those are fantastic! I like the skyline one best...
  19. Ach, subject us, please! I'd love to be subjected! (Er...not in that way...)
  20. I meant I wouldn't imagine they'd haul it away...sorry for the typo...
  21. Er...when did Case become a prissy liberal arts school? The curriculum sure has changed...
  22. Indeed...that was quick! You're up!
  23. Hmm...I don't know that they're actually pumping it out - I thought I saw them putting stone or something back in, but maybe I missed that. And I don't know where they pumped it to - they didn't pump it into the street, and I would imagine they'd have hauled it away...though maybe that's what they did...
  24. OK, I'm back...so here's one:
