  1. It may be really run-down, but some of that garage-o-centric trash you used to feature in "They're Building Such CRAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPP!!!!" is far uglier to my eye... ...although those windows smack up against the corner is pretty atrocious...
  2. Well, that depends on what trips your trigger. Older neighborhoods in Blue Ash, the whole post-war suburb thing, can be extremely charming...but if you mean the office-park crap, or a lot of the McMansion new construction, I agree completely!
  3. ...and can we get a quick recap on where exactly to meet? Also, maybe a couple cell phone numbers just in case?

    THAT was stunning.
  5. I concur! Doesn't even look like Ohio!!! Ha - maybe that's because half the background is Kentucky! We certainly are a state of great diversity...
  6. ...it's a dangerous day to be a straw man on Urban Ohio! Left and right, they're all taking body blows...
  7. BTW, we were there last night for the second time, but you must have been off...sat in the seats facing into the kitchen, and watched Pete get pretty annoyed at a couple folks!
  8. Alas...would have been fun...next time! Well, that does free up a spot in my car, if there are any last-minute Cincinnatians interested in going...
  9. Yeah, those outfits were fantastic...it was complimentary to every body type - I thought everyone in there looked great...

I thought this was going to be pictures of the chaos a wolf caused at a drag race... Nice shots, though!
  11. It's because you're a lurker...you lurk in the background, like a shark, always moving...you're like Jason only without the hockey mask...
  12. "I don't want to live in lesser downtown on Seventh Street" - sheesh. http://www.wlwt.com/news/14451448/detail.html Council Will Vote Thursday On Banks Proposal POSTED: 5:20 pm EDT October 29, 2007 UPDATED: 7:48 pm EDT October 29, 2007 CINCINNATI -- A long-stalled development plan appears to be a done deal. City officials spent seven hours Monday examining many aspects of the Banks development plan, and City Council will vote Thursday on the development plan offered by Carter-Dawson. Council members voted 9-0 to register their decision on the plan, just days before voters will fill nine seats from among 20 candidates...
  13. Downloading images (using uudecode) in 1991, and posting on a bulletin board maybe once or twice...a lot of time reading them, not much posting...
  14. Nick always had really reasonable drinks at Nicola's - a generous pour of top-shelf scotch on the rocks was $6 for years and years...I know it's gone up since then, but it's still not like Pigall's, where a martini or a cosmo ran $12... What's a standard cocktail cost at Via Vite?
  15. I was just figuring, if you tipped 20%, that's a $35 bill, figured two drinks totaling $10, that leaves around $6 per tapas thingy - that's not too bad, even if they're small...though I normally drink liquor, so $10 is reasonable for two drinks...hell, some places that's a single drink...
  16. That seems like a reasonable price, at least...
  17. May have been tough, but you did wonderfully! Thanks so much for this (and all of your) update(s)!

Same thing for us, same three options, same frickin' insanity...
  19. So, having reviewed the thread, I see that the start time is 11am, which means we'll leave Cincinnati at 9am, returning after Phase I of the meet at 4pm...I believe I'm driving David and Jake, which means there's still one empty seat...
  20. I'm definitely in...I have dinner obligations that night, so I'll be leaving Columbus by probably 4ish, so again, any Cincinnatians who want to leave around 10ish, I'm guessing, and getting back around 6ish, mi auto es su auto...

Oh, and we shouldn't forget the Buckeye Trail! Anyone up for a short jaunt up to Painsville? We can return via Defiance!

By the way, this book is the bomb: http://www.amazon.com/Backpack-Loops-Trail-Hikes-Southern/dp/0940029014/ It's 20+ years old now, but it'll give you a lot of ideas, and you can then look for updated info when one strikes your fancy...

Studied Arabic for a while, can read, write and speak it, but still with a very limited vocabulary, and listening requires someone speaking it very, very slowly... ...and then I can read some French, but listening is right out.
  24. Agh, it's Via Vite, the most wonderful new restaurant to open just about EVER in the HISTORY OF THE WORLD!!! Just firebomb his house. He'll have to get at least a weekend off for that...
