Melan Arch Bridge Retaining Wall
Well, the barriers are down now, and I didn't notice anything exciting and new driving through there, so I guess not...

Which Ohio City Could Host A Superbowl?

Cincinnati: New Hamilton County Jail
Ah...so the one at Taft and Woodburn? That's only listed at 5147 square feet...that's huge for a house, but seems pretty tiny for a jail...I assume it's pretty minimal security...

Which Ohio City Could Host A Superbowl?
What's that mean? I'm not trying to call you out or something, I'm just asking - I don't get the reference...

Cincinnati: New Hamilton County Jail
I've never heard of this - where is this at?

Is Over-the-Rhine As Bad As They Say?
^And like I said earlier, it's not like they were once filled to capacity and have been losing vendors - most of those vacancies were never filled in the first place after expansion...that is correct, isn't it? I didn't miss some post-expansion phase of 100% occupancy...have they lost any vendors?

Cincinnati: New Hamilton County Jail
Yeah, I don't really understand why we wouldn't put it in Queensgate...are there good arguments against that?
-
Cincinnati: East End: River's Edge
^...because of the view! Teardowns happen when the land is more valuable than the home, and that's sure the case here...a little flood mitigation, a high roofline, and you'll get a view pretty similar to this: (just with less water most of the time - the river was three or four feet above flood stage in this shot)

Is Over-the-Rhine As Bad As They Say?
The market expanded dramatically in the last year or so - I don't really know that the vacancies are due to vendors leaving or the market doing poorly, but more due to there being so many more "store fronts" than there used to be inside the building...every time I've been there, it seems like there are just as many vendors and as many people as I always remember, just in and around a bigger building.

Which Ohio City Could Host A Superbowl?
I understand the Olympics is a complicated endeavor, with tons of housing requirements and training facilities and all that, but really, what's involved in hosting the Super Bowl? I agree with Monte on the dome requirement (which is unfortunate), but really, say it's 10x the press as there is at the AFC Championship - great, so add a thousand or two thousand press folks to the mix. There are practice facilities already, press rooms, something like 45K seats - what else do you need?

Hey, it's great to read your work! Do you have any insight on the questions I posted above regarding the crest predictions riding high generally?

Cincinnati: Crime & Safety Discussion
You look at the list of drug arrests by year, and what strikes me is NOT a huge increase in drug arrests over the last two years - it's the "Oh My God What The F*** Have You Been DOING" drop in drug arrests in 2001 and 2002. The post-riot policing slowdown was criminal, and we're still suffering for it.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Adams Landing
RiverViewer replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionThat would incorporate Twain's Pointe too, which obviously isn't the case - but yeah, if they're still talking 600 units, I'd guess everything up to Bains is going to be used in some fashion...

Aargh...that's too bad. Seems like a great daytime coffee shop location - tons of traffic. Alas...

Cincinnati: Brent Spence Bridge
I'd be more concerned about clearance. Pool stage of the Ohio river in Cincinnati is 25.1 feet or so. I can't imagine such a tunnel being less than what, five or six feet on the bottom, same on the top, plus a clearance of what, 15+ feet? Seems like the top would stick out of the river...

What city do you represent?
Cincinnati - I'm too long away from living in Cleveland/Euclid/Wickliffe/Eastlake - eleven years now - and am back in Hinckley/Medina too infrequently to help... And I, too, absolutely love Cincinnati!

Ooo...I really like the 11:01 posted one - the colors are beautiful - that muted blue tone against the muted pinkish sky - that's the kind of look I'm really into right now. And there's some great contrast in the lower part despite the overall muted tone...I'm really digging that shot...

NFL: General News & Discussion
Holy. Ass. Though I've gotta say, I'm a fan of completely non-traditional names - I love complicated foreign names, wacked out American names, and off-the-wall stuff like this...but still, it's just a little surprising...
