I was assuming each retailer would want to be able to have their area locked up every night and there would be a central eating area with bigger, communal tables. It appears more closely to resemble a vendor market. I love this! Food Markets are 'the thing' on the East coast. Baltimore's newest opened a couple weeks ago in the historic/artistic Mount Vernon. It's a wonderful space that leans towards local vendors. We have a couple of these in the city and they are highly successful. http://mtvernonmarketplace.com

Baltimore's Skyline Former Cincinnati resident currently residing in Baltimore here. In response to IAGuy39's post of Baltimore's aerial photo, I want to point out that the picture of Baltimore show is old (circa 2002) and not representative of Baltimore's downtown today. Since this picture, the area of picture containing a large swath of green (far middle left) has successfully been developed as Albermarle Square, a mixed-use, mixed income HOPE VI housing development. Further north of that, just before the water, (Inner) Harbor East has sprung out of the ground. Harbor East has become the most successful and affluent mixed-use neighborhood downtown. Harbor East is home to many hotels (Four Seasons Hotel & Residence, Marriott & Courtyard by Marriott, Hilton Garden Inn & Homewood Suites, Hyatt Place, and Fairfield Inn), multiple residential high-rises, restaurants (Roy's, Flemings, Oceanaire, Starbucks, and many local outposts), and retail outlets (Under Armour, Arhaus, Whole Foods, J Crew, Antropologie, etc). All of these businesses are housed in multiple towers that further expand downtown Baltimore and extend the skyline far more than the displayed picture. I found this picture of 801 Rockwell (pre-renovation) on Loopnet. I am not sure when the photo was taken. I'd say the renovation is a vast improvement from what it used to look like.

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan announced Friday that a Cleveland airport executive has been appointed CEO of Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. Ricky Smith Sr., the director of Cleveland Hopkins International Airport as well as that city's Department of Port Control, will serve as the executive director of the Maryland Aviation Administration. RNC Money This may be a silly question, but could any of the RNC money the city will be receiving to offset the costs associated with hosting the RNC be used to pay for trains to move visitors around the city? I know the bulk of the money will be spent on security initiatives but I read that police vehicles would be purchased which led me to question if any of the funds could be funneled to RTA.

^ I don't think that is the case at all. Many Kimpton guests love to stay at the independently flagged hotels. As a frequent Kimpton customer, I tend to shy away from Monaco and Palomar as they are usually not as unique as the uniquely branded Kimptons and feel a bit chain-like. Kimpton does a great job promoting all their hotels and regularly features snippets spotlighting their individual hotels on their site. As a Kimpton Karma member, they also offer packages such as city getaways where members get discounted (or free) offers from local vendors, attractions, etc.
