  1. I would suggest losing the whitish facade sections and extending the center facade out on each side to replace the white parts. The white to me is the proverbial sore thumb.
  2. There was an old post card describing E. 6th from Euclid to Superior as the "Grand Canyon of Cleveland."
  3. Their block club would put up stiff resistance to any nearby project.
  4. From the rive gauche looking east-ish with rowers. Bright blue skies do wonders for Cleveland.
  5. @ethan. We probably passed each other. There were bricklayer laying real bricks on the townhouses
  6. What is the max grade CVSR trains could handle?
  7. How funny. I took the same picture this afternoon.
  8. Was that demolition at W25th and Trowbridge? I noticed a new cleared area there today?
  9. Excerpted from an OMOT.org. article "Under different names at different times, the village (now city) of Maple Heights has operated direct bus service to Public Square and a crosstown line connecting with the Van Aken Boulevard line of Shaker Heights Rapid Transit ever since 1935." "Midday and Saturday service to Cleveland is offered every half hour, with Sunday trips every two hours. Headways on the Dunham-Crosstown route are about the same." Did Maple Hts. Transit only have two routes or were there more?
  10. LOL, in that vein, let's really splurge and do a highway and rail tunnel from about midway down the Muny Lot, under the Cuyahoga to near Wendy Park, eliminate the Main Avenue bridge and the NS lift bridge at the mouth of the Cuyahoga, reconnect the new road to the West Shoreway, and let the freight trains and boat traffic run unencumbered. Hehe.
  11. Well, occasionally we can. Last Monday, I drove through the "big dig" in Boston.
  12. Yellow house is now, also demolished.
  13. Serpentini Collision is down. The yellow house at Groza and Pearl is fenced in with a machine on site. Sorry, if previously reported.
  14. ^ LOL, did they "ask Sherwin-Williams" for color advice?
  15. I feel déjà vu coming on: Dennis Kucinich, late 70's.
  16. Regarding the airport station's convenience for the Columbus train, why not have it leave the yellow NS line via the "short line," switch to the Chicago line to pass the airport, and then switch back to CSX in Berea. EDIT: Does that yellow line still cross the short line at grade in all directions, or did they limit movememts to east <> south and west <> north, when Conrail was split up?

Scientific discoveries, since the Renaissance, have successively eaten away at humanity's beliefs that Earth is at the center of everything, that Earth was created pretty much as we see it today a relatively short while ago, and that humans are, somehow, special, a unique creation These advances have intruded into the realm of various philosophies and religious beliefs creating the struggles between religion and modernity of the last few centuries. It must have been jarring for many to go from being the sacred one and onlies at the center of the Universe to an imperfect species, sharing the same basic building blocks as all other terrestrial life, on a small planet revolving around an average star in the outskirts of one in billions of galaxies. Given a less "special" existence, in a huge Universe, the chances that Earth is the only abode of life, to me, seems extremely unlikely.

LOL, "Attack of the Phytoplankton," at theaters this summer!
  19. Would a repurposing of the twin towers to apartments not be feasible?
  20. Hey, but they are close to topping.
  21. ^Believe it or not, they sorta do. Just for fun, here is an example of a listed connection on Frontier's site: Montego Bay (MBJ) to Philadelphia (PHL) via Cleveland (CLE) for April 21st. MBJ. CLE. CLE. PHL 12:34 EST. >>>>>>> 17:08 EDT. OVERNIGHT 07:06 EDT>>>>>>> 08:26 EDT (Next Morning) Would you select this connection? $270 This says a lot about their ops.
  22. For some reason, I thought this (closure) was done once before (70's or 80's) and then partially reopened as a meandering two lane street. Can anyone confirm or refute?
  23. How much will the renovation of concourse A affect the operations of airlines using it?
