Pet Peeves!
You need so much help, and I'm only one person. The word store is implied. If someone was going to visit you, would they say, "I am going to MoonlightOhio," or would they say, "I am going to MoonlightOhio's."? The noun home, house, place of business, is implied. Sort of like ending a sentence in a preposition. Which is proper? Where is Kroger's Grocery Store at? or: Where is Kroger's Grocery Store at, a$$hole? Hit a nerve, did we? But you're still wrong. It's not "Where is Kroger's Grocery Store?" It's, "Where is THE Kroger Grocery store?" And you know how I know this? Because it's Kroger and not Kroger's. But yes, if someone was coming to visit me, they'd say "Hey, I'm going to Josh's house." Because the house is mine. But since Kroger is an establishment, adding a possessive "s" would the equivalent of saying that you're going to the building in which Kroger resides. And really, how stupid is that?

Ohio second in country with empty Wal-Mart buildings
"Wal-Mart is a triumph of the free market and should be welcomed and celebrated." Seriously, guy? A "triumph"? I guess if you're counting the mistreatment of employees in a wide variety of ways as being a "triumph," then yeah, I'd agree.

^ Haha. Agreed. Also, it's "its" not "it's" unless it's "it is." :)

No, it wouldn't Because that's the name of the store. Why would you list the owner of the store with a possessive "s" in place of the actual store's name? You're not making sense. That's like if you were going to Skyline Chili and told someone, "Hey, I'm going to Lambrinides', you want anything?"

People call Ford "Ford's"?! I'd lose my sh!t if someone said that around me.

Cleveland: TV / Film Industry News
So wait, I'm confused. What's with the Molly Shannon condo thing? Is she from Cleveland, or something?

Yeah, that's great. But Kroger, Meijer, K-Mart, Wal-Mart, etc. have never been possessive as far as their names go. The only time an "s" is added is when people go retardo and an add one on themselves.

I hate it when people add a possessive "s" to store names. Kroger's, Meijer's, K-Mart's, Wal-Mart's. Drives me up a wall.

Gentrification News & Discussion
Yeah. Although, if you're going east on Knox, toward Beeker, a lot of those houses have great views of the skyline.

Gentrification News & Discussion
By the way, the lady and I were driving around this weekend and I remembered that house being on Knox. It looks even better in real life and much bigger. :) The house across the driveway has about a million cats, too.

Cincinnati: City Budget and Spending News & Discussion
Are you in Walnut Hills or East Walnut Hills? or do you notice a severe lack of police presence in both? East Walnut Hills falls in District 2 which is the same district as Hyde Park, Mt. Lookout and Columbia-Tusculum; while Walnut Hills falls in District 4 which includes Mt. Auburn, Avondale and up to Roselawn, Carthage and Roselawn. Maybe there is a lack of a presence there because it's the border. i really don't know and am not a huge defender of the PD. Up until a month ago, I lived firmly in Walnut Hills. I moved a few streets over and now, I guess it's technically East Walnut Hills. To be honest, the lack of police presence around my current place doesn't bother me. We don't need it. But Walnut Hills proper is a neighborhood that desperately needs a larger police presence. It's gotten to the point where it's almost comical.

Cincinnati: City Budget and Spending News & Discussion
Do we know if these 138 positions in the CPD are needed? This is a question that I admit I didn't stop to consider when the news first broke that the city was letting these guys go. It's definitely a valid question, and probably the most important one. Living in Walnut Hills, I can tell you that there's a SEVERE lack of police presence in the area. But if I go further east into Hyde Park, Mt. Lookout and Columbia-Tusculum, police are EVERYWHERE. Maybe the city could make do by putting bodies where we actually need them?

When I was in high school, I got a job at Red Lobster. I can't even describe the smell of my car during that time. I don't know how I had any friends.

I hate the following things: pickles, ketchup, mustard, ranch sauce, tarter sauce, Mac sauce (whatever it is), barbecue sauce... and more. Then you better damn well go inside and order your food. The drive-thru is for convenience, not for servicing picky eaters.

The worst are any fast food places that have both iced tea and sweet tea. And if you want just regular iced tea, plan to have to have to go back around a second time. It doesn't matter what I say ("regular iced tea," "iced tea, not sweet tea," "the tea without any sugar in it"), I ALWAYS get sweet tea.

The drive-thru. It doesn't even matter which one. I hate them all. Screaming into a box and straining to hear the cashier speak through the low volume and static is enough to make me want to pull my hair out. Add to that the guy who's ALWAYS in front of you, ordering enough food to feed an army and it all has to be made with the strictest of specifications, and I'd just as soon go hungry for a week. And when you finally do get your food, it's wrong. Every. Damn. Time.

I just perused his story, but it seemed like he was using the emails for defensive purposes (his and the company's), not personal gain. Now, if he told the woman "unless you step down so I can take you job, I am going to take these emails to HR", that would be coercion and/or extortion. But there is nothing LEGALLY wrong with taking the emails to HR to either protect your job or the company's interests. Coercioin only arises when you 'force' another into taking or refraining from action where the other person would have a freedom of choice. So.... tattling is not coercion. Threatening to 'tattle' unless the other person does or does not do something which should be the other's rightful choice.... that is coercion. Moonlight - what is and what is not "ethical" totally depends on the industry/profession. There are no hard line rules, save for certain professions such as law, medicine, finance, etc. which have written ethical codes.... but even those vary from state to state. If MTS had taken his findings to HR, that would've been fine. Having her followed, photographed, and having the photos mailed to her home for anyone in the family to see, is not fine. Agree? Cool. HR was aware. My "source" was well aware of what was going on. Did you miss that? ;) Followed? It's a public place anyone could be there at any time Photographed? It's a public place many people were taking photos Mail? Why would a person open mail that is not address to them or that is sent with specific instructions that only the addressed recipient can sign and accept the delivery? Followed? Yes. Believe it or not, you actually can follow someone to a public place. You can even follow them AROUND a public place. Photographed? Yes. Just like following people around public places, you can actually photograph them too. Crazy, I know, but it's true. Honest. Mail? Yes. Ever been married? No? Well, husbands and wives tend to open each other's mail without even thinking about it. Again, I know it sounds bonkers, but this stuff ACTUALLY HAPPENS. It's like you're not even trying anymore. What's the point of bringing up the fact that one can be seen and photographed in a public place. We know they can. You did it!

LMAO!! Your solution. Chose better friends or friend without pets! LOL Cat owners suck too, but they're not nearly as big of a problem. Cats tend to run like hell whenever someone new walks into the room, which is fine with me. Cat hair's a b!tch, though. The biggest pet (Ha!) peeve with cat owners is the damn smell of their ENTIRE HOUSE. Q: If the cat pisses in the catbox, then why does the ENTIRE HOUSE smell like cat piss? A: Because you need to clean the damn catbox more often. And hide it away in a room that's off the beaten path. I don't want to walk into your living room and feel little bits of kitty litter crunch under my feet.

Oh crap, I can't believe I forgot this one: DOG OWNERS. I love dogs, I really do. I'm hoping that in the near future I can adopt a little guy. But dog OWNERS I hate. When I come over to your house, and I'm wearing decent clothes, IT IS NOT OKAY OR FUNNY WHEN YOUR FILTHY ASS DOG JUMPS ALL OVER ME WITH ITS LONG ASS, DIRTY TOE NAILS. NO. NO. NO. And clean up the damn place, for the love of God. There's nothing like sitting on someone's couch for 5 minutes and leaving with 6 lbs of dog hair all over you.

Im sorry, if im going to pick up a friend or a cousin, ill call them when i leave my house to let them know im on the way. Once i get in the driveway im giving a quick 2 beeper and they should be outside. Im coming to you up to go somewhere else, not to come inside for tea and biscuits. And for this I hate you. If you need to let someone know that you've arrived to pick them up, you can use the device God invented for it: a cell phone. Horn came long before the cell phone. Think ill stick with the horn. Yeah, you're free to do what want, as is your right. But everyone else around is free to despise your very being. Also, the horse came before the automobile, so I'm not ever sure what you're doing behind the wheel anyway. What a great exchange, with MoonlightOhio landing the final, devastating blow. Wow, I don't even remember this exchange AT ALL. :(

Speaking of smoking, I hate it when people come over and automatically assume it's okay to light up without asking.
