  1. Hey, here are some from McMillan and Concord. I get to see them on my way home from work everyday. :) I'm not very happy with these next two, mostly because of the shadow. I'll try to snap a few more soon, hopefully earlier in the day.
  2. Thanks, man. I noticed when I got home and looked at them that I really liked the left window there, and the color of the light inside it. I wish I would've noticed that at the time. My main focus was of the ROHS sign, but I may have to get down there again soon and get some good ones of that window and what's inside.
  3. Yeah, I'm looking at them on the Street View option of Google Maps and they're at the corner of Linn and Poplar.
  4. My manly beard and somewhat imposing physical presence may have been a deterrent, as well. ;)
  5. Actually, I just looked the Stanley Rowe Towers up and they're not the ones I'm talking about. Those are further south and on the opposite side of 75. I'm talking about the two high rises near Findlay Market.
  6. Senior citizens, huh? I never would have guessed. They remind me of the towers in The Wire, the ones that were controlled by Avon Barksdale. I was looking to take some photos, but I didn't want to deal with drug dealers or anything like that. Hopefully if it's a senior citizens project, there won't be any of that.
  7. Cool. In the off chance that it's not in the OTR thread, if anyone knows the answer, feel free to either post it here, there or PM me. Thanks!
  8. I mainly stick to the photography forums, but I have a (hopefully) quick question about OTR. The two housing towers: what are the names of those buildings? You can clearly see them from 75. Anyone know?
  9. Oh, it's not bad. People see what you're doing and they leave you alone. There was a group of kids that asked me to take their picture, but that was about all the interaction I got.
  10. Thanks for all the compliments guys!
  11. Thanks, man. Hopefully in the next few weeks, I'll have enough time to take and post a bunch more of different areas in and around downtown Cincinnati.
  12. Hey guys, it's been a while. I was downtown a few weeks ago, grabbing some shots of Fountain Square for my pops, and again last night just for the hell of it. Here are a few of Fountain Square. I have to say, they did a nice job moving and restoring it. And here a few that I snapped on Vine Street. And one last one of a parking garage on 7th, I believe.

I really like the one of the fire house phone. It's nice to know those are still around, even if they probably don't work.
  14. Photoshop much?
  15. So do a lot of active buildings in and around that area. I walked into a building behind it thinking it was empty, and to my surprise it wasn't.
  16. Do you know if it's still in use?

  18. Wow, thanks man. I do some freelance work for the papers here in town, but those are usually so boring and formulaic, to be honest, that I wouldn't dare post them here. The stuff I put up on here and deviantART is all for fun. And for anyone who REALLY likes my stuff, prints are available upon request. *wink wink, nudge nudge* :)
  19. Thanks so much for the kind words guys. For those that want to see more, I have a deviantART account here. I'd say a good 90% of the photos there are in and around Ohio (mostly Cincinnati).
  20. These were taken two weeks ago, I believe. Really beautiful day. And like the P&G photo in another thread, I have no idea what some of these buildings are. I just sees 'em and shoots 'em. :) This one's actually of a building in OTR, taken on the same day:
  21. Very interesting stuff. Thanks for the info!
  22. Thanks. I'd like to know what that thing is. It's like this half city block of...that. There's steam everywhere and it's loud and I have no idea what it is. If anyone knows, let me know. Check out some of the stuff these guys do!! http://www.twinriverstechnologies.com/about_trt.lasso My old man woks here! Twin Rivers Technologies is the company. *(Formally P&G, but they are the main buyer still.) Originally, the plant was built for Olean, however lately they have been shifting there focus on Biofuels. The plant is very versatile and can easily be converted to new uses that may arise in the future. (glycerin, omega 3, fatty acids, etc are some byproducts they manufacture.) Wow, I would've never guessed. It looks like science-fiction exploded onto an empty lot. :)

  24. Just a few from around town: Eden Park: For some reason, Photobucket resized this one and made it smaller. Hmm... The train yard: P&G:
