Cleveland: Industry, Steel Mills, and More
I can't believe that you actually put this picture up! I know the bridge where this was taken and I have always thought that Cleveland never looked better than from that bridge at sunset. This is by far the best view in the whole city IMO.

Your cellphone company: Are you happy with it?
Verizon for the past five years. I have only one complaint, and it probably won't ever effect the vast majority of people on this forum. I have travelled to cities all across the US, and there is only one dead zone that I have ever found. It is a fifteen mile stretch of I-80 right along the Ohio-Indiana border. I get it every time, whether I am driving or taking Amtrak (which is usually the case). As luck would have it, I always seem to be on the phone when I pass over the state lines and I drop the call every single time.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Avenue District
My point was not that people living in the AD would not appreciate a fast food restaurant nor that it would not work. I just don't think from everything Zaremba has said that he will be courting any such chain for this development.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Avenue District
Something tells me that McDonalds doesn't scream "upscale living" in a way that will help Zaremba market it as such.

WSJ: "The Self-Inflicted Economic Death of Ohio"
^What? Actually doing real research from various perspectives to find an actual answer rather than only printing things that help to further your own point of view?!? Now that's just crazy. The guy does make some valid points though.

City or Suburb
Born in Cleveland. Raised in Cleveland (Old Brooklyn). I now live about 45 minutes north of Milwaukee in a small town called Port Washington. It's tiny, but it's got a nice little downtown right on Lake Michigan. I live in an apartment building a couple of blocks outside of downtown and can't wait until I graduate next May and can move back (God willing) to Cleveland.

Married or Single?
I did my absolute best to avoid commitment, but somehow it always knew where I was!

Orientation
^Thanks. That means when I move back to Cleveland (fingers crossed) I'll be bringing a new resident with me. I'm doing my part to help Cleveland grow in population!

Cleveland: Prospect Place, Joshua Hall, & Mueller Lofts
LMAO! The first thing I thought when I saw those pictures was that it would be amazing to live there. My second thought was how hard it would be to keep all that glass free from fingerprints...then I decided that I wouldn't want to live there.

Amherst: Cleveland Quarries
^Agreed. I'm slowly growing more appreciative of the resort aspect of this development, but I don't think I'm ever going to like it as a whole. On a side note, I just have to point out that this is not exactly housing for people who are on a tight budget. Many of the people in this development could afford to live DT, they just flat out don't want it. Most condos don't cost $1,000,000, and I'd guess that these houses wouldn't be a steal when compared to many of the condos currently on sale DT. I know and agree that some people just don't like that life, but I don't really know what you're getting at by suggesting that people are going to move to this development because it's too expensive to live in Cleveland.

Amherst: Cleveland Quarries
The only reason I got a little fired up about the project is that the article specifically stated that some people are looking to move there and then commute to Downtown. I know it won't be all of them, but it's still going to be some of them. Downtown may not be for everyone, but there are plenty of places in or near the city that they could go if they didn't want to be close to work. I've definitely calmed down about it, but that still aggravates me.

Amherst: Cleveland Quarries
^The fact that the gates don't even close is almost comical. You do have to wonder though whether the people are actually being fooled by this nonsense or if they are simply in love with the fantasy of the suburbs and pretend to believe it. Either way, as foolish as it may seem to many people on this forum, there are plenty of people who would be more than happy to live in a development like this and commute to work in downtown every day.

Amherst: Cleveland Quarries
^What are these gates protecting? Isn't it obvious? They're protecting the "American dream" from diversity, filthy poor people, the scary city, and those awful black folks that ruin all the good neighborhoods! Moving 38 miles away isn't far enough; now we have to build a gate just make certain we're safe! :weird: It makes me sick to see such stupid people.

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
I noticed that the website states that there will only be 525,000 sf of office space as opposed to the nearly 1 million that had been proposed with the Eaton hq. I know this could easily be changed the minute that Eaton signs on, but it did catch my eye.

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
^It doesn't really offer any new information, but it's the first I've seen of it. Thanks for posting it, urbanmyth. And welcome to the forum!

Thanks, McCleveland! I thank you on behalf of everyone who visits this site but doesn't live in Cleveland to check it out for themselves.

Cleveland: HealthLine / Euclid Corridor
It's not a contest! But so far I'm in second place.

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
Still, you have to take this one step at a time, and this is a definitely a step in the right direction.

Cleveland: HealthLine / Euclid Corridor
As someone who is 500 miles away and has been following the project pretty carefully I would also appreciate some visuals so that I can see what everyone is talking about.
