  1. ^I don't think you can ever make everyone happy. People will always find something to complain about. That being said, I for one am pleased.
  2. Here's a little something for all of you to serenade all of your significant others with this Wednesday.
  3. Beautiful pictures, Mayday! Ajknee, I feel your pain. I grew up in Cleveland and now live in Port Washington. The Milwaukee skyline makes me a little sad remembering what I left behind in Cleveland.
  4. ^It's funny, I went through the exact same thought process.
  5. This number is suprising to many. I dont' live in that area of OB - but I can speak for the western edge of the neighborhood. I know there are a couple vacant homes on my street. However, neighbors continue to mow the grass and even park their cars in the driveways to make them appear lived in. One great thing about the majority of OB is that there is a genuine desire to maintain the quality of life. I actually grew up right around the corner from Harmody Park on Canova. During a visit two years ago, I remember there being six houses awaiting sale that had nobody living in them. I was actually in Cleveland last week and stopped by to see the old neighborhood. I was pleased to see that all six of those houses no longer had for sale signs on the lawns and I even saw people sitting on the porches of several of them as I walked by.
  6. ^That's absolutely beautiful! It would be nice to see this thing take off again some day.
  7. My theory is that the city will just keep this soil issue charade going long enough to break the spirits of most of the people pushing for the current site until we start taking the same attitude as gavster and just accept the Forrest City site. I'm already feeling myself move towards that point as well. Just shut up and build before you do something absolutely ridiculous like move for the new site on Chester or screw up the deal altogether and lose the MM.
  8. I asked my friend living on West 116th about whether or not any developers are aggressively seeking his property and he said that they are continuing to make him offers. He also told me that several of his neighbors have told him that they already settled on a price.
  9. I've been on vacation all week and just got back to find this. At first, I was a little bit angry that we weren't getting something like what Firenze98 has a few posts up, but I've calmed down and I'm really starting to warm up to something of this size. If Pesht and this go forward simultaneously it will really make that part of downtown a nice dense area. If they do it right then I'd take that over a supertall any day.
  10. ^^I posted a few pages back that one of my friends who lives on W 116th has been talking with a developer as well.

At first when I saw this one I couldn't figure out what that hand was doing in the sky. It took my about five minutes before I realized it was a reflection and smacked myself in the face.

    ^Same problem.
  14. Try the travel and relocation assistance section. You can use a different thread there to get all the information you need without derailing this one. Oh, and welcome back. :-D
  15. ^I just read that and it realized it sounded a lot harsher than I wanted it to. Welcome to the forum Glenville, but please look around. We do care about developments all over the city.
  16. Glenville, you obviously aren't very familiar with UO. If you were, you would know that there are threads about developments all over the city including Chester, Euclid Avenue, Detroit Shoreway, and various neighborhoods throughout the city such as Ohio City and Tremont. This website is dedicated to Cleveland as a whole (we even have threads to discuss the suburbs). Please familiarize yourself with this site and what people actually talk about it on it before you start attacking people here.
  17. Bizbiz, I wish I shared your optimism, but watching this thing unfold is like watching a car wreck in slow motion.
  18. I think we said that last year Yeah, I kinda feel the same, but given KJP's information I'm willing to wait a little more.
  19. Sorry, clvlndr. That wasn't directed at you. You've listed all your reasons on here plenty of times. I used to be on your side of the fence but have since changed my mind and I completely respect your opinion. I just get annoyed with this tired argument that the Mall is too far from public transportation. I don't know how to make the point any more lucid. The Mall is not some isolated island that will stop people from taking the rapid from the airport. Buckeye1, I totally agree. I was just in Minneapolis for a convention about a month ago and most of the people I knew we're staying at least four or five blocks from the convention center anyways. I stayed in a hotel nine blocks away, and there were plenty of people from the same convention staying in my hotel. If we're going to have a convention center, then people are going to have to walk a little anyways. There is no point in sacrificing the better site (IMO) just to prevent people from having to walk for a couple of blocks.
  20. Ow. Look out, naysayers. :) Hey, some of these people just have it coming. :whip:
  21. Not to beat a dead horse here, but you're exactly right. Forest City needs to cut the crap about how it is located so close to Tower City and the Mall is SO far away. It's just a couple of blocks. Are we planning on only bringing in conventions for people with broken legs incapable of walking a couple of blocks? Anybody actually pushing that argument as legitimet deserves to be punched in the face by every single person on this board.
  22. If we've all waited this long, then we can stand to wait another couple of weeks. I'm just glad to hear there actually is going to be an announcement that might help get this thing rolling.
  23. I have always had great luck with phones. I usually replace them every two years without any problems. However, this year seems to be an exception. I started out the year with an LG Chocolate that got possessed and I had to toss it. I replaced that with another chocolate, and had the heat censor die after four months. About two months ago I got an LG VX8300 which is a great phone, but the screen is starting to mess up on it.
  24. ^Can you blame us!?! This is one of the most anticipated projects in Cleveland!
