    ^that's great news--thanks.
  5. the building on E 9 St pier is a two-story restaurant? I thought it was supposed to be 5-story mixed use condos, office, and retail.
  6. ^Cool. Where is is this field? would love to check it out.
  7. are they condos or apts or both? any word on the breakdown?
  8. ^interesting. is that on the north side of Lorain around 20 St.? What's the status of it? That's TOD and much needed residential space for Ohio City. I hope at least some are 1-2-3-4 br condos not all apts.
  9. ^The annual report that is widely circulated in CLE that shows how great we are, is the MIDWEST investment report. It acts as if the rest of the country doesn't exist. Who cares how CLE compares to Indianapolis or Detroit when there are things like Boston out there? Cleveland truly needs to up its game.
  10. Likewise. I'd only qualify something if such needed an explanation, otherwise its actually imbalancing the sentence. One would say, "Pineapples and oranges are fruits, as well as grapes, apples, pears, and strawberries." You wouldn't say: "Pineapples and oranges are fruits, as well as grapes, apples, pears, and strawberries, with strawberries being red and smaller than apples."
  11. Frontier announces CLE-PHL service. http://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/2016/04/14/776200/#.Vw-g6zrg-hM.twitter "To celebrate this new service, Frontier is offering special introductory fares as low as $20 one-way on these new routes today only." This is good, as prior to this it was a monopoly route with USAir (now AA).
  12. ^How annoying and belittling: The fact that Cleveland made it as a top 10 city for one of their lists (Leading Metros for Biomedical Investment) made them feel compelled to explain why Cleveland was on the list, whereas no "justification" was provided for any other city on their list. "The geography of the biomedical industry (which includes medical devices and equipment) is similar to biotech. But now Boston bests San Francisco, with $370 million (or 15.8 percent of the total investment). San Francisco is second, with $366 million (15.6 percent), followed by San Jose, with $228 million (9.7 percent), and Los Angeles, with $216 million (9.2 percent). Other leading centers include Minneapolis-Saint Paul, San Diego, New York, Raleigh in the North Carolina Research Triangle, Atlanta, and Cleveland, largely due to the cluster surrounding the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic. "
  13. The station is far from everything. How many people daily arrive/depart that station?
  14. This was kindof done earlier in this thread, though not all of the proposed bldgs are there--see: http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php/topic,29704.msg786492.html#msg786492
  15. Cool photo. Immediate to the east of the Hippodrome Bldg is a tiny little building--like 2 stories--very interesting looking.
  16. NY Life's move from Lakewood to Downtown confirmed (though didn't mention which bldg downtown). But the Lakewood office bldg won't sit empty--will be mostly converted to apartments: http://www.cleveland.com/lakewood/index.ssf/2016/04/lakewoods_tallest_office_build.html#incart_river_index
  17. why advertise that you're doing such? now every city in the country will do the same if they weren't quietly doing so already.

  19. ^not sure. at least with FirstMerit, you knew it was a corporate name like "coca cola stadium". But this may well be the convention center of Huntington, WV. Sounds horrible to me as a name for the Cleveland Convention Center.
  20. Really? then what makes this board more insightful than reading a press release or a news story?
  21. Based on a reliable source I heard from today, the hotel is still part of the project (despite it not being in the Corenet description above).
  22. Also some of the apts were to be for sale (condos). I hope that that is still in the mix. I would readily buy a place downtown at $2k/month, but will definitely not pay that in rent. buyers are investing in the longer term to the downtown neighborhood than are renters.
  23. ^that's a steal for that bldg. Using quick math, not accounting for any capital work or operating costs, if the rent is $600/unit, the entire bldg would be paid off in 4.05 yrs.

^so the project is feasible technically? I heard someone was doing boring or some kind of geotechnical tests, but that was like a year ago or so. never heard about any findings about those tests.
