Cleveland Burke Lakefront Airport
Really? You want that kind of actions taken by government to be done here in Cleveland? Say what you will for Jackson, but at least he understands the importance of Burke.

What is "The Dock", mentioned above? Is it a bar? In Cleveland cabbies are weary of certain public housing projects, but I don't know of any public bars where they won't go.

^I agree. I'm glad the Toby Keith element is no longer part of the project. I personally hate the big round traffic circles. This is, afterall, central Cleveland. But overall, the project seems successful---and it is better than nothing. I'd like to see some condos in the mix (I'm aware of financing difficulties),as such would certainly add a bit more permanency to the area. Even if it were just a 10-story bldg with 6-10 units per floor.

Cleveland: Zoning Discussion
Coming soon--October 21: Best Practices in Zoning Symposium Featuring Jeff Speck, author of Walkable City Join ULI Cleveland and the City of Cleveland for a one-day symposium exploring how the needs of building and development have changed since the current zoning code was enacted in 1929. The evolution of zoning presents the City of Cleveland with the opportunity to adopt a new 21st century code that draws from the best in today’s planning, promoting development that creates attractive, walkable, healthy, sustainable communities. http://cleveland.uli.org/event/building-21th-century-city/

Cleveland: One University Circle
^ yes--based on the Emporis link above and Michelle's article, at 234 feet, it would be the tallest bldg in UC---26 feet taller than the WO Walker Bldg at 105 & Euclid. I think the design would work a little better if had a little more height--even 6-7 more stories--then it would feel more balanced.

why would that thing still be on loopnet (says record updated 8 days ago)? Is it still possible to happen? I thought the city squashed it like the bug it is!

Quebec to Ohio "PolyOne Corp. is closing a plant in Quebec and adding capacity at a plant in Ohio as it continues to integrate the assets of Spartech Corp.....The Quebec closing will result in 70 job cuts and is expected to be completed by the end of the year. Capacity will be added at PolyOne’s sheet plant in Greenville, Ohio. " http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20150819/NEWS/150819781/polyone-to-close-quebec-plant-shift-production-to-ohio#utm_medium=email&utm_source=ccl-dailynews&utm_campaign=ccl-dailynews-20150819 Greenville is not Cleveland, in fact its closer to Indianapolis than it is to CLE, but nice to see a move stateside, and to Ohio to boot, even if not Cleveland....

Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
^was it parked under the bridge or while it was moving? The article and title suggest it was related to having been to an ATM, but that may not be relevant as I-71 is not an easy place to rob someone, assuming that was the motive if the ATM is cited. So either the ATM is irrelevant and it was road rage or some other things (such as the shooter knowing the driver); or if the car was parked under the bridge, maybe something else was going on.

Cleveland: One University Circle
mrclifton88---yes, thanks for clarifying. the building I was referring to is on the SE corner of E9 and St. Clair. I guess the name is different now---"One Cleveland Center". But for years---including the formative period in my head---it was called the "Medical Mutual Building"---and thus that's the name I use (and remember) for that buidling. I had no idea that there is a 10-story buidling out there by that name as well--that is confusing!

Cleveland: One University Circle
At 20 stories it won't be nearly as impressive, plus, if there was to be ground floor retail, the more residents above it to support it the better. To really stand out, this building should be at least 35 stories....Medical Mutual building is 31 stories--would be nice to see something a little taller than that at this site. Perhaps make the top 15 stories condos--above 20 of apts--that will certainly attract people that wouldn't pay such high fees just to rent.

^^Absolute crap. W. 24 St should be open as a street. The current market parking lot should be replaced with a structure, 2-below grade plus 10 or so above grade. Parking should be the 2-below grades and then 1 or 2 above grade. Street level and fronting retail along Lorain and 24th. And apartments/condos on the upper floors. What they have designed is a parking lot. We already have a giant parking lot! They just added 20% more spots.

Akron-Canton Regional Airport
^My comment was on the 1x frequency. if you're in NY and you have a meeting in Akron (e.g. at Goodyear), and you're a loyal AA flyer, you're much better off flying into CLE as it has the frequency than CAK. By entering a 1x at CAK, they lose an opportunity to strengthen their better product, LGA-CLE.
