Cleveland: TV / Film Industry News
^^KJP. I'm the one who created this thread and MH's post is correct. Here's the disclaimer I put at the end of the first post in this thread: [[Mods: I know we already have a "Cleveland: The City in Movies & TV" topic in "City Discussions" but this is about the the business/jobs/economics of films and movies in CLE as it relates to the city's employment and economy--so that's why I created a new thread instead of putting this info there as its a different topic.]]

Cleveland: Downtown & Vicinity Residences Discussion
^Great list. 17) May Company Building -- 350 units (planned for 2016) How solid is this one? Haven't heard much about it.

Cleveland: Hotel Development
As the Sheraton or Bond Court--I don't remember the parking garage being so blatant. Looks like the Westin is trying to show it off. That can't be the final exterior to conceal the garage, is it???

Cleveland: Retail News
Yes, but I've noticed that the Colonial Arcade is much busier than the Euclid Arcade. In the Euclid, there is a giant art store that is NEVER open, taking up a lot of space. I went several times, never open. I won't bother trying again. In the Colonial, there's a much better conglomeration of little stores--plus needed things like a shoe shine and watch repair place---so driving foot traffic.

Cleveland: Marketing the City
^Don't get me wrong. I like it. I just found it odd that its SO similar to the CWRU video that came out over a year ago--and even uses a lot of the same images! I just wished it showed the water and the rapid.

Cleveland: Marketing the City
ITS very similar in to the Case Law school video--which has some good narrative when not talking about law school/law firms..... (like, if you want to fall in love---this is the city!). At least ten images in this 'new' video is taken from that one---Wade Oval, the West Side Market, the guy smiling, and a bunch of others. BUT---the Case law school video has a great shot of the rapid at Tower City---looks like a regular big city subway (not street-running light rail crap!) AND has some great shots of the lake or the city with the lake on the background. A few posters here mentioned the train and the lake. I agree with those comments. Here's the case video---scroll down to the third row (not the video at the top of the page): law.case.edu Could the Positively Cleveland video better edited a bit? I realize its tied to the song's length, but some train or lake images could substitute something else.....

Cleveland: Marketing the City
Two comments--from my travels, CLE has a VERY negative reputation across the country. Second--the video---i've seen a lot of those images in the film before--they were in Case law school's video promo. Was this one made by the same company? or did they just use some of the same footage? Here's the case video---scroll down to the third row (not the video at the top of the page): law.case.edu

Cleveland: Random Quick Questions
^^Clifton in Edgewater is atrocious. Yet, on the Lakewood side of 117 St, the street is fine. Why is that? They both use salt, no?

Re pro soccer in CLE: Major League Soccer commissioner Don Garber: Cleveland: “We need more teams in the Midwest … there haven’t been any discussions (about Cleveland) of late … Support the Crew.” http://prosoccertalk.nbcsports.com/2014/03/04/major-league-soccer-don-garber-questions/ Columbus Crew?!? That's how answers a question about Cleveland? MLS wants Cleveland! We should move on this.

Cleveland: Immigration News & Discussion
"Immigration is fine and dandy, but we gotta first take care ah our own" was the message Jackson had said....(not exact quote) North87--there is PLENTY the mayor could do to make this city immigrant-friendly. There's far more to the topic than just the INS.

East vs. West, huh? Well the west side earth fare is in Fairview Park---what's more typical than that? And though surrounded by Giant Eagle, Heinens, and Nature's Bin, the Earth Fare there is still open.
