Governor John Kasich
He's all over the map. I know he's no fan of Cleveland (even though its the largest economy in the state), but now he's threatening to derail the Casino before it ever starts--by adding new taxes to the casino--that even violates his republican beliefs about low taxes creating jobs. He has to be removed before before the state is in shambles. http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2011/04/unsettled_tax_and_fee_issues_c.html#incart_hbx

^Oh man, what a great image!- Cleveland: Current Ethnic Neighborhoods
I’m trying to put together a modern-day list of ethnic neighborhoods/areas in Cleveland. I know immigration to the city isn’t what it was in the old days and the city is far less dense than it used to be which supported such neighborhoods. Nonetheless, I was wondering where these areas are today. For example, where would one go to find some Hungarian, Japanese, or Indian food market and then a café and restaurant? (by neighborhood, not a single restaurant/shop)? So far--though this list may be need some corrections: Chinese – AsiaTown Vietnamese – Detroit in the 50’s (though I’m sure if they’re still there) Russian – somewhere in Mayfield Hts? Ukrainian-Parma-State Road between Snow & Brookpark Italian-Little Italy Slovenian—St. Clair in the 60s? “St. Clair Hts.” Polish--Slavic Village?- Governor John Kasich
^ jam--yes, thanks--that's what I was referring to. Sherman--illegal, no--not that I know of. But scandalous? I say undermining the population whom you were elected to serve the best interests of is certainly 'scandalous'. this has nothing to do with bush or republicans vs dems--its has to do with competent leadership and whats best for the state.- Governor John Kasich

The "jenga" one is very cool! I like it better than what it became.- Dayton International Airport
Canada is international? okay.. (If DAY has any customs/immigration, its not because of this flight due to US pre-clearance at YYZ.) you meaning dropping 'international'? No--its just a name. Erie, PA has no int'l service yet it is "Erie International". LGA serves Aruba and the Bahamas on weekends, but its not "LaGuardia International". Cleveland Burke Lakefront has international capabilities (including customs) but, like LaGuardia, does not have "international" in its name.- Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion

I haven't seen anything official yet, but have heard that a new hotel--to be a Hilton--will be built on St. Clair near (and because of) the Medical Mart/CC. As far as I know, this is a separate project from the rehabilitation and rebranding of the Crowne Plaza. :-)- Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion

I just heard of some talk of a new Hilton hotel to be built on St. Clair - not sure if its the same project as the Crowne Plaza rehab or if its entirely separate, but if it is a different project, that's very cool.- Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion

^You responding to me? If so, I purposely did not include the west bank as I don't consider that Downtown--I had no choice but to include the East Bank as it is the same Tract as part of the Warehouse District. My comment was that--despite all the boom in Downtown living plus existing places like the Chesterfield and Reserve Square--the population was still only less than 10,000. Less than I was expecting.- Cleveland: Census Results
Downtown has only 9471 people? Seems low. As best as possible given census track boundaries, I defined Downtown as from the river to the innerbelt, using Tracks 107101, 107701, and 107802. (Source: http://projects.nytimes.com/census/2010/map?hp ).- Cleveland: Random Development and News
