Cleveland Hopkins International Airport
^No. That means 72 flights from whereever that were destined for CLE today have been cancelled. ALSO, 61 scheduled departures were also cancelled. yes, the difference between the two numbers is 11, but that doesn't mean anything about where aircraft are. UA has been storing some planes in CLE--but they're not directly tied to these numbers. DL, AA, B6, WN, Frontier---everyone is cancelling flights all over the country.

"Cleveland Hopkins (CLE): Cancellations today (3/26): there are 133 flight cancellations for Cleveland Hopkins: 72 flights to Cleveland and 61 Cleveland departures. United Airlines is suspending LAX-CLE through the end of April. Currently still on the schedule at 2x daily in May." https://www.centerforcleveland.org/covid-19

Cleveland Hopkins International Airport
I agree that it will likely be cancelled---at least I hope so. The whole country needs to shut down otherwise we'll never get ahead of this. All the states can order quarantines, but only the Federal government can stop the flights (unless the airlines themselves to it). In the BEST CASE SCENARIO, i've heard the peak will be the end of April/early May. But that's only if the country as a whole acts now, but Trump doesn't appear remotely capable.

"Cleveland Hopkins (CLE): At this time, for today [3/25]: there are 102 flight cancellations for Cleveland Hopkins: 52 flights to Cleveland and 50 Cleveland departures." https://www.centerforcleveland.org/covid-19 Will certainly hurt CLE's upward trajectory of passengers, especially as the flights that are operating are mostly empty.

^Pretty dismal result, with April 1 being only 10 days away (the last report 3/22)---but at least its pretty consistent across the country.

What the #$%#? "A Cleveland Municipal Court judge has for two days held court hearings despite a directive from her court’s administrative judge to postpone all court hearings for defendants who are not currently in jail as a means to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus. Judge Pinkey Carr...has held court hearings for defendants who are free after posting bond, despite an announcement on the court’s website declaring that all such hearings scheduled between Monday and April 3 would be rescheduled....Carr has also issued arrest warrants for defendants who heeded the court’s website and did not show up to court." https://www.cleveland.com/court-justice/2020/03/cleveland-judge-flouts-courts-postponements-amid-coronavirus-pandemic-issues-warrants-for-no-shows.html

[crossposted in Coronavirus thread as passengers traveled beyond CLE] A TSA screener at CLE tests positive for COVID-19. "The officer who tested positive for COVID-19 is a screening officer who last worked the 4 a.m. to noon shift Saturday, March 14 at the airport’s North Checkpoint, the TSA said in a statement." https://www.cleveland.com/coronavirus/2020/03/tsa-agent-at-cleveland-hopkins-airport-tests-positive-for-new-coronavirus.html

It still bothers me that the residential tower is at an angle from Prospect. Don't like it. And you certainly will not get a nice wall of buildings look down Prospect with this bldg doing that.

Washington Post: Cleveland’s double crisis — coronavirus and a shrinking number of reporters to cover it "... But if there were a competition for the American newsroom enduring the most hellish month, the Plain Dealer in Cleveland certainly would be among the finalists. Consider: Tim Warsinskey started his new job as the paper’s top editor on March 1. Eight days later, he announced deep staff reductions at the news organization where the former reporter and union vice chairman has worked for the past 30 years...." https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/media/clevelands-double-crisis--coronavirus-and-a-shrinking-number-of-reporters-to-cover-it/2020/03/13/a4ed2d7c-6545-11ea-b3fc-7841686c5c57_story.html
