  1. Thanks. but shouldn't the share number number be the same for all the horizontal lines if its the % of HH watching TV during the broadcast time?
  2. ^How do you read the rating/share column?

    Confirmed coronavirus case in Ontario.

^and why it is a good thing?
  5. You can build up elite status with DL or AA--and the minute you have the 25k or whatever you'll have that status. Have the guts to break the cycle. I had elite status with UA. But after I decided to stop giving them my money when i had a choice (I would still fly UA if it was the ONLY nonstop, e.g., to Houston), I gained status on DL, with no regrets. To me, the status on UA is useless.
  6. Per this article, Friday will be the last day for the Airspace Lounge at Hopkins. https://www.cleveland.com/business/2020/01/airspace-lounge-at-cleveland-hopkins-airport-closing-this-week.html

This is crazy that EMS did not protocols in place for coronavirus---and had to figure out what to do (and call the CDC) AFTER they get a call to transport somebody. But this article raises another question, "The patient lived just over the border in Cleveland Heights..." Why is city of Cleveland EMS going to get this person---shouldn't it be Cle Hts FD/EMS? https://fox8.com/2020/01/28/i-team-call-to-cleveland-ems-has-city-ambulance-system-scrambling-to-come-up-with-coronavirus-plan/
  8. That's a silly metric for UA to use, if true. many have the UA rewards card, myself included--a few of them--yet I never fly UA unless its the only choice for a non-stop (e.g., to Houston or Newark). Many people in CLE have it cause they USED to fly UA a lot. To me, its simply a credit card. If I'm gathering UA points--now I will have to check how many I have---I will transfer them to a hotel rewards program so I can use them. If they treat their paying passengers so poorly, imagine how they must treat those on reward travel. If they need to take someone's seat--like they did that Vietnamese doctor who was bloodied and dragged out of his seat, imagine if they need a seat and you didn't even pay for yours!
  9. thanks for the drilling info. But that wouldn't be whats at W 25 & Detroit. That area is original Cleveland. The land the science center is not -- that's why there is 30 feet of fill.
  10. Of course, happy to have the building, but why are the windows so few/small? Looks dark and unfriendly.
  11. I just heard Lucky's declared bankruptcy, but then dug deeper and learned their new store on Clifton will remain open. https://www.wkyc.com/article/news/local/cleveland/luckys-market-announces-chapter-11-filing-will-keep-cleveland-location-open/95-5c97c94d-1bde-4d47-b468-e8efc60021ff
  12. I didn't get to watch it last night. Is there a place to see it? Youtube, hulu, etc?
  13. Really? Look at a map. Put an "X" where on the section where Canal would be missing. And look at the endless combinations of things on one side of the X that you could no longer reach on the other side without some very inconvenient detours. Not to mention if an ambulance had to go through there where every second counts, but instead had to go all the way around or wait for a boat to clear two bridges, that person would likely be dead.
  14. Some people are ripping the show's producers apart for picking CLE! Ha-ha! The girls' reaction when told where they were going--if real, not sure how scripted the show is--is pretty funny. You can see a clip of the reaction on the link below. WRONG JOURNEY Bachelor fans slam producers who ditched exotic locations for CLEVELAND as contestants fall silent "BACHELOR producers are being ridiculed by their passionate fanbase after the “uncomfortable” reaction from the show's contestants when they heard this week's episode destination is Cleveland, Ohio. The Bachelor is typically known for it’s world-class filming locations and over-the-top romantic dates but this week, production sent leading man Peter Weber, 28, and his group of ladies to the midwestern city and Bachelor Nation was outraged." https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/10834842/bachelor-fans-slam-producers-who-ditched-exotic-locations-for-cleveland-as-contestants-fall-silent/
  15. If you remove that part of Canal you are effectively dividing part of the flats with NO reasonable connections to the other part. Forcing cars to cross two bridges---one of which has yet to be built---is not a reasonable option. Removing a piece of I-90--all lanes between Carnegie and Prospect isn't a good idea either. This is a city not a suburban or college campus, you don't just close streets. The ONLY street of recent discussions that makes sense that SHOULD have been completely closed is Superior through Public Square. In that case there was a compelling major use (a central square) AND a very easy alternative--the other roadways of Public Square that required cars to drive an extra 40 feet maybe---not the mile or so you are suggesting PLUS $120M for a new bridge for construction PLUS $xxxxxx per year to operate the bridge staffing it 24/7/365 PLUS all the extra congestion on streets from unnecessary driving or sitting around emitting CO especially when the bridges are closed for marine traffic.
  16. Yo to the CLE---that is not a simple alternative. Lets say there's a boat in the river---not that uncommon---so the bridges are open---you want to tie up all the streets waiting for boats to get from one part of canal to another part of canal so you can remove 100' of street? KJP--Huron is not an alternative either---that's Downtown and not in the Flats--you'd be forcing all traffic to climb up the hill and then down and ADD to any Downtown congestion---why would we want that? Just to giveaway 100' of USABLE, EXIsting road?
  17. No! Look at a map---you can't just close Canal--without FORCING cars to go over two movable bridges, one of which has to be constructed. Streets were planned and built for a reason. This isn't the burbs which huge lots between roads.

Who will be her replacement? I know the article said she didn't say who--but if she leaves office this Friday, vs, a month ago, there will not be need for an election--so i assume she has a replacement in mind.
  19. Keep Canal Road? To me, its not even a point of discussion. WE must keep Canal otherwise there would no connection from that part of the Flats to another part without going back up into Dowtown or crossing the Carter Bridge onto Scranton Peninsula and then building ANOTHER bridge to connect Scranton Peninsula to where Stones Levee is. KJP -- Pls tell me SW/Bedrock isn't trying to close Canal. The city has given away WAY too many streets to private interests, destroying the city's grid.
  20. Re Amazon: I never did an accounting before of what they have in Cleveland. But: Euclid North Randall Twinsburg Bedford Heights Glenwillow Village only east side locations? did they just figure this out and hence they are looking at 108th and Madison?
  21. Oh no. From that link above I just realized--and confirmed on the web--that Hodges had closed. They were the restaurant space that the link above is advertising. That's really too bad---they were a really good restaurant and at times had some really good deals. That's a big loss for that part of Downtown.
  22. ^Did Richmond Mall close? And it has residential now attached to what?
  23. Does this mean that Howard Hanna is closing?
  24. I've said this before and received a major backlash from forumers from some reason which I never understood--and then my post got deleted. But I'll say it again: For the area to be successful, it needs to be made into a real neighborhood--not just apartments built surrounded by bars and restaurants that are on the pricier end. It needs: a drug store, a deli to pick up quick food/snacks, laundromat/dry cleaner, a few coffee shops, some small little bars (that are not intended to draw a weekend crowd, but just locals), some non-upscale places to eat like a chipotle, cheap chinese place, etc, some bldgs with for-sale apartment units, and a few other local shops. Why are Lakewood and Cle Hts desirable, yet cool places to be? Because it has this mix of uses and across price points.

^Surprised no one had a response to the above. In any event, other public health concerns: The coronavirus from Wuhan, China had a second US case confirmed, with 63 other persons being monitored. The first case was confirmed in Seattle. The second is closer to Cleveland--Chicago. "CLEVELAND — With a second U.S. case of coronavirus reported in Chicago Friday morning, Ohio and local authorities are taking steps to ensure any cases of the disease are reported, although officials say Cleveland is currently at low risk. Hospitals--Cleveland Clinic is screening patients on intake for possible travel from China, confirmed Andrea Pacetti with the clinic. Airports--A Cleveland Hopkins International Airport official stated that they are following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention alert, which recommends avoiding non-essential travel to Wuhan, China, and provides the following guidance to those planning on traveling to China, and those who have traveled from China in the last two weeks who are exhibiting symptoms....." https://www.cnbc.com/2020/01/24/cdc-confirms-second-us-case-of-coronavirus-chicago-resident-diagnosed.html https://www.news5cleveland.com/news/local-news/local-state-health-officials-taking-steps-to-prevent-coronavirus-report-possible-cases
