  1. ^That is interesting. Where is their physical office?
  2. ^Yes! Those look fine. Cleveland Clinic even did a partial job like this--with a garage wrapped in offices on two sides, and standard ugly garage on the other side. Facing 93 St. and Euclid are nice. Facing E 90 St and the rest of Hough, they didn't bother. But the developer at this project is showing the garage as usual, unconcealed ugly garage with concrete ramps. A better design is either underground or concealed. "It is fun to spend other people's money, no doubt about that." Is this YOUR money KJP? What a bizarre statement. It almost suggests that to ensure proper profit levels of business people/developers, no critique or improvements to design should be made.
  3. ^I didn't say it was the same price or cheaper. I said the park garage was ugly and made more pronounced by their attempts to beautify it. But being underground would certainly add to the value of the project.
  4. That garage is atrocious. And efforts to make it pretty with art make it stand out even more. The lot is big enough they could do 1-2 levels underground and it would fully replace the five-story or whatever ugly garage. That space could be a park or another bldg with a some retail, but a giant garage looks horrendous.
  5. will any apartments be for-sale units?
  6. I'm not sure what you're trying to say with this post. Yes, of course Mexico and Puerto Rico are different places....? Maybe I am misunderstanding the point you're trying to make. edale--thanks for the data. I like demographic data as well. my point was that it is overly simplistic to say "Hispanic/Latino" without drilling deeper. Cleveland has an unusually low percentage (and number) of Mexicans (and Guatemalans, Hondurans, etc.), but this is not the case with Puerto Ricans. So to understand the numbers we need to look at individual ethnicities to look for patterns/trends/events/existing communities/political relationship with the US, etc.
  7. ^That 1800 figure refers to the number of people who were seen/helped by the Spanish American Committee. Its probable that not every single person who moved from PR to CLE also stopped in at the Spanish American Committee. So the number is at least 1800, but likely higher. No idea--3k? 4k?
  8. ^don't click on their site--looks like it might have been hacked. But here's the info from google for sutton hardware: Spacious store, founded in 1945, providing hardware & tool rental, plus key, glass & screen cutting. Address: 3848 Prospect Ave E, Cleveland, OH 44115 Hours: Open ⋅ Closes 5:30PM Phone: (216) 696-8340
  9. Sutton Hardware maybe? 38 or so and Prospect
  10. ^and speaking of Hurricane Maria, the Cleveland PR community did get a boost. Not sure of exact number, but at least a couple thousand people have moved from PR to CLE, and apparently people are still moving.
  11. ^Yes, that is true. I thought we were talking about Hispanic population in general. I was responding to this:
  12. ^There's a difference between Mexican and Puerto Rican, DR, etc. Cleveland has a good-sized Puerto Rican population, enough to warrant, until Hurricane Maria, a direct, weekly flight for the past 15-20 or so years.
  13. ^Speaking of refugees, Bhutanese Refugee settlements --first 9months of 2018 Akron 63 Cincinnati 23 Cleveland 21 Cleveland Hts 12 Columbus 88 Cuyahoga Falls 6 Stow 1 and for KJP: Ukraine 128 Cleveland 1 Cleveland Heights 54 Columbus 40 Parma 27 Parma Heights 4 Strongsville 2 the biggest group was from DRC: Dem. 14. Some interesting data: ICE arrests for Ohio through Oct 2017. Interesting that Columbus is so much higher than Cleveland and that Cincinnati has stayed clear of all this ICE activity. 15. Aren't all accounts open to wire transfers in/out? Or do you mean accounts accessible via the web?
  16. ^actually, i read somewhere its not 500 to Downtown. 500 to Downtown AND West Park (150 St.). PNC didn't say how many to each part of town.
  17. Lakewood and Shaker, though, still wouldn't be preferable to Ohio City. CMSD may rank poorly, but Ohio City has some good schools. Plus its far more walkable and with more interesting places than Lakewood or Shaker. the only think shaker may have is the rapid service as Ohio city has only one station and it can be hike from it to where you may want to go in Ohio City.

"There's nothing wrong with associating with a strip club owner or sex workers in general, but according to On The Issues, a website dedicated to documenting candidates' publicly declared stances, Renacci has consistently voted as a evangelical and a man of faith. " https://www.clevescene.com/scene-and-heard/archives/2018/09/27/former-cleveland-strip-club-owner-has-been-flying-jim-renacci-to-campaign-around-ohio Just image how much Ohio could grow and progress if people like Renacci weren't voted into office. By running for US Senate, does he lose his current House seat? I hope so.
  19. The Goodtime III uses the east side of E9 Street. How much is it's draft?
  20. What is/was the issue with "Cleveland+"? I remember it, but don't know much about it.
  21. ^Exactly. If someone like Ikea--or any company-- said, we want to be in the top 20 markets in the US, Cleveland is automatically on the list. But now, no, we're a 'medium-sized' US market.
  22. That would be nice as E 9 St pier used to board people on ships. Not sure if those were only domestic routes. The passenger ships now need immigration control. They do this now at the Port with a modified trailer and it seems to work well.
  23. ^Akron does not want the law to change. They like pretending they're not part of Cleveland for their own ego. They're not asking for any exception.
  24. Or lobby to keep the status quo. Which is what Akron does.
  25. what if you took an item off the shelf, then later decided you didn't want it. do you have to go back and neatly put it back where you found it? yes, this will certainly make society better: less and less human interactions with fellow citizens, less jobs for people of limited skill or ability (not everyone can have one of the new jobs fixing the tech), and of course, more profits to the company that is destroying the foundation of captialism--that there are many stores and choices. Amazon now has over 50% of all internet sales, not to mention how many stores and small towns are negatively impacted by amazon--and a few which get low-paying 'distribution center' jobs after other shops and livelihoods have been destroyed. I wouldn't--and don't--buy anything on amazon.
