Cleveland: Retail News
you would think spillover demand by retailers could flow into the Arcade, but perhaps the rent is too high.... and on the Superior level, it looks like the hotel doesn't want to rent the spaces--they seem to use the old shops as storage for tables and such.

Cleveland: Hotel Development
^That would be great. Way too much dead space around there. In addition to hotel life, the area needs casuals bars and restaurants like millions of cities in the world where you can hit a museum then grab a beer or burger with your friends next door or across the street. That's hard to do in CLE, especially Downtown, which is crazy.

^Its called Connor Theater? So we have TWO theaters called Connor Downtown? Is this same Connor as at Playhouse Square? If so, does he need to see his name everywhere?

Cleveland Mayoral Race 2017
^Classic. In his own official announcement he mentions drunkenness & DUI's! No better way to demonstrate cluelessness.

Cleveland Mayoral Race 2017
Just saw with the wikipedia entry on the election. Long list of people. I know its not always accurate....Madalone is not listed, for example. But I was trying to find a global view of the election and couldn't find one anywhere else. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cleveland_mayoral_election,_2017

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
I truly hope this golf this is not put on the east bank. Way to kill momentum and density. plus it not safe with golf balls hitting people and cars----i know there's a tall fence/net around it, but you know people will purposely try to get it over the net, esp. drunk partiers. Imagine what you could do with that much space--how many condos or offices or apts you could build. And if it must be green space, how about a nice park with one section with a playground for kids which i don't think is ANYWHERE downtown or on the East Bank---which is a necessity if you're trying to attract young couples or families with little kids.

Good news indeed and it underscores the fact that Cleveland is an important big city, both in finance and otherwise.- Cleveland: Downtown: The Lumen
Wonderful. I hope at least a few floors (those with the tiny balconies) will ultimately be condo. We need owner-occupied living Downtown to ensure stability.- Cleveland Mayoral Race 2017

I wonder if the orange guy will throw his hat in the ring this time. He'd probably have a better chance this time around, though not sure if he's better than Madalone, other than having the benefit of age (that is, wisdom).- Cleveland: General Business & Economic News

^I'd like to see some kind of side-by-side comparison (but not debate where they weasel around an answer) where these folks stand on real issues like transit, schools, economic development, growing the city, neighborhood development, lakefront development, crime, and other matters. Right now Madalone is my favorite--but he's a risk cause we don't know much about him. But we do know Zack and Johnson and Frank and we know we wouldn't be getting much with any of them. The city desperately needs change and Madalone may be the best to do that. If he surrounds himself with good, smart people, it could work. If he appoints the same old people of the last 12-24 years, then there's no point to elect him. Between the main three, I'd take Jackson any day over Zack or Jeff Johnson.- Sustainable Cleveland

^Interestingly, it was a Republican (Perk) who made it non-partisan. Otherwise, a Republican would always have a 50-50 chance.- Cleveland Mayoral Race 2017
Madalone has been quiet. You'd think after an announcement to run, he'd be backing that up with appearances or at least content. Is it a serious run or just exploratory that raises his company's profile in the meantime?- Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News

^If the City of Cleveland Dept of Economic Development weren't so incompetent when it comes to bringing in new bussineses, they'd be rushing to the scene offering this company numerous options.- Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
1. The Jacobs lot is not THAT far of a walk to Canal! 2. I'd love see another 50+ story bldg in the skyline---and that could be done even if SW only needed 20 floors and the remainder by other tenants. 3. Regarding SW using 44 stories---is the work of R&D suitable for a vertical office bldg? Seems like most such facilities are short-wide bldgs. But also, if they are doing testing and use volatile chemicals in processes, is it a good idea to have R&D (and the inherent dangers) in the same bldg as office workers? Does the zoning code even allow it?- Taipei, Taiwan
