  1. Personally, I'm gonna write to the editor to see if they've ever been to OTR, as well as the Oxford Police Dept.
  2. Found this in the Oxford Press, read the bolded line with the GREAT OTR comment...knuckleheads... February sees substantial number of drug arrests Click-2-Listen By Ryan Gauthier Staff Writer Tuesday, March 04, 2008 February was host to an average of one drug-related arrest every day, with Oxford police taking in 29 individuals last month. Police seized approximately four pounds of marijuana, between 40 and 50 Adderall pills, countless pieces of drug paraphernalia and well over $11,000 of cash subject to narcotics forfeiture.
  3. Why not, it would certainly be better than venice pizza....imagine being able to walk out of your condo and grab a pie from across the street...

Well the whole process does not take up a lot of space at all. Other than a few odds and ends, the biggest pieces you need is a large bucket (or glass jug known as a carboy) to ferment in, and a big brewpot. It is essentially like cooking, but you do have to keep your equipment sanitary. Currently I brew good beer for about 15 dollars a case, though that can be brought down using different techniques. And as far as investing in bottles, you can reuse any bottle that is not a twist-off. I just rinse bottles after I drink a beer...my own recycling program. And you just need patience for that first batch. After that, you will always have some on hand, and you won't have to worry about keeping your hands off the newly brewed batch. Perhaps a homebrew seminar is in order...

Does anyone on this site homebrew? I have been doing it for about a year and a half, and it is very rewarding...

It's nice that if you develop free software, Apple will not charge to download it, and you can still distribute it through iTunes. There is a $99/year charge to publish software through iTunes, which I can only assume means that freeware will likely be beta's, with the option to purchase the full version. And the 2.0 firmware update in June, all pretty cool...
  8. Okay, so Lavomatic is nice, and the food is great, but we need something else to munch on in the Q besides venice on vine and enzo's. I would like to see something like Tuckers down there (I'm not saying they should move, I love going up there when I am at Findlay, but something like that)...

As far as the keyboard issue, I can type much faster now with the iphone keyboard, because I don't have to be exact with what button I hit. The dictionary is smart enough, that 99 times out of 100 it picks the right word and I just keep typing. Lack of GPS is a downfall...

I have heard that apps for sale on itunes will have to go through apple, but free apps will not be controlled.

I've had the iPhone for a few months, and I like almost everything about it except: You can't shoot video The speaker for music or speakerphone is really, really weak It has bluetooth, but you can't use that to connect to the computer, you must have the cable Every once in a while it flakes out and I have to reboot, though I have found that just turning the thing off every few days lessens the frequency of it going nuts on me All that said, I was playing with my buddy's voyager last week and I thought it sucked. The touch screen was terrible compared to the iPhone, and the resolution was pretty bad. Plus I hate verizon, so I am biased against their service. I haven't unlocked the phone, I am just going along with the updates. Once the SDK comes out this thing will be even more incredible.
  13. As of Feb. 21 OTR Holdings Inc (3CDC) has that building...

Yeah, I just kinda hoped it was effects, the dog seemed a little still...but with all the press and whatnot I agree, it certainly could be real...

Maybe so, it is getting national coverage, gonna be a big deal as either a bad joke or the desensitization of war... Sound does have some whimpering, but I agree, it could be fake...

  19. In that quote from Cheryl on the last page she talks about $500,000+ luxury condos in the Gateway Quarter. Such things do no exist. There are four units that are in the 300's (the highest is 369). Other than those, there are some units in the 200's, and most are in the 100's. I would love to see what the streetcar could do to bringing people to this area and showing them what is happening. I would also love to be able to hop and an cruise downtown for dinner...
  20. ^ ^Well 14th and Vine is next on the list with Trinity Flats, so we will see what happens...I think just having the construction activity on the street will help things out...unless all of their tools end up in west end loan....
  21. Ever since Lavomatic opened last Tuesday, I have seen suburbanites down their gawking at how OTR could look so good. Hopefully this slow change in perception will catch on...
  22. Lavomatic is very cool space. I just stopped in and got a glass of wine, and the place was slammed. Very positive reactions from the other people there. What I really can't believe is looking north from 12th and Vine, the street is lined with cars...at night!!! Hopefully this will become a common sight...
  23. Yeah, they sold him that space at 1211 vine, which will be the restaurant. To the best of my knowledge he has not purchased a condo to live in.
  24. Condo in OTR? Where? Are you sure you are not confusing the fact that they purchased the restaurant space as a condo from the Duncanson lofts?
  25. ^ ^ Sorry, just had to be an ass for a moment... I'm gonna head over there soon to see whats going on. Try and get myself a little tour...
