I spoke with someone recently that works for Stark. My company was liking for retail space downtown and we were interested in some of Starks properties. When I asked about some of their listings she also mentioned the upcoming Nucleus project, talking about it in a way that it was OBVIOUSLY going to be finished and retail space would be available to our company. I would assume they are instructed to sell the upcoming space as if it's already finished and furnished to get a potential tenant interested. $60/sqft -- I'm out

The smokestack is an icon, hope it stays. Love the smoke stack, just adds character.

Cleveland: Nautica Development
These are apartments, not a shopping mall. Light public traffic is exactly what I want after a long day of work. The water surrounding it is a great idea, very peaceful to those that enjoy the waterfront/boating

Interesting that no one cares if you don't want a bunch of "Johnny manziel types" (ie. Bro's, frat boys, partiers) but if someone says I don't want all those low class bums on public square everyone explodes and says you need to be more 'tolerant', 'accepting' or "this is a city stay in the burbs if you dont like it". I can totally see why someone wouldn't want manziel types all over but if were gonna be PC lets not be hypocritical.

No one who is going to care. The very term "cultural appropriation" has lately become a term of mockery among those to the right of Hillary Clinton. Couldn't have said it any better.

Northeast Ohio / Cleveland: General Transit Thread
Why shouldn't it? It's been the transit hub since the 1850s. With it being the hub of streets, it's a natural transit hub too. So why is that suddenly bad? All public realms in this city belong to everyone. With the goal of making Public Square more inviting, leaving it as the bus-hub kind of holds it back from those goals. We can't deny that the bus stops have been an underlying cause of unpleasant situations or public disturbances that have given Public Square its reputation. Just because it's been the hub through time doesn't mean it cannot change. Times Square is a hub of streets, but it isn't NYC's bus hub. It's more focused on visitors' experience and the aesthetics, which makes it enjoyable. Moving the hub away from the square would just make the "new" Public Square more enjoyable and more comfortable for those who want to enjoy it peacefully. Times Square was never THE transit hub of NYC. We can argue whether it was a transit hub at all. Let's be honest what moving transit off Public Square is all about. It's about shoving poor people and minorities into dark corners of the city where we can forget about them in furtherance of desires to create a caste system for America where different classes no longer mix. Well it's about time. Get them off the square. Next, apply this to tower city and then we really got something. Opinion as someone who used to own a store in Tower City. *side note* sorry to quote from so far back up thread

Just don't get it. A private developer is putting up a skyscraper, he should be able to design it as he and his money sees fit. Not to mention in a city that should be begging him to go forward with it. Not my favorite design either but im not building it. ---that is all assuming that someone at the planning commission really is having him take a look at changing the design.

CLEVELAND: My company is looking for street level retail
yeah, that's a nice space but not really the location we want. I don't want something on the CSU campus. It will be easier to market to the entire CSU campus then to market to the entire downtown business population. I would rather have a great street presence to make my marketing job much easier.

CLEVELAND: My company is looking for street level retail
MayDay ---- no problem. I am co owner of the company and we have been in business for a little over a year now. Actually the rent quote we received for playhouse square wasn't out of this world. I am not trying to get people from the suburbs to come downtown just for my services, I want to get the people from the suburbs that come downtown every day for work to stop by.

CLEVELAND: My company is looking for street level retail
Im looking to hit more of the downtown crowd that comes in from the suburbs. We will be advertising and will be hitting csu. Those students could make the trip easily. We originally were going to take the old third federal space on Euclid and 4th, which is part of the Arcade, but at the last minute the owners decided to hold that spot for some type of restaurant. That was my ideal location. We also do service contracts, so having a good downtown presence in the business community is very important to us.

CLEVELAND: My company is looking for street level retail
First, a little about my company, I own a tech company out of Strongsville which repairs phones, tablets, and computers. We also manufacture some of our own parts and ship them worldwide. What we are looking for: Street level retail with great visibility to pedestrians, traffic, residents and local businesses. 2000 - 3500 sqft. We will use about 700-1000 sqft for retail space for customers to drop off and pick up their devices (computers, tablets, phones) as well using some of that space to display products and accessories. about 500-700 for manufacturing and workspace for repairs and about 800-1200 sqft for offices. Location is more important that size and we are flexible on size for the right space. We are currently looking at the space between the state and palace theater on Euclid and the old nova bar and grill on w6th, which is next to the liquor store. Please let me know if you guys know of any spaces that would fit my needs, I would appreciate it and would love to help bring some more retail downtown.

From an unnamed source.... Verizon is looking to move out. Don't be surprised to see another company that location in the future.
