  1. My gf loves going to the beach at night. But I thought I saw something where Hunington closes at 10 or 11. Are there any that are open to the public 24/7 or just places where one could make it down to the water or sand. Or even a nice place to hang out that views the water?
  2. I know this is going to be built in the flats, but could this extend our downtown? Would sure be nice to expand our downtown. Putting this "simple" design down there close to the bridge with the hotel and other buildings close to it might give the feeling of a bigger downtown.
  3. Anyone have info on this? Would really be intresting to see.
  4. Looks like someone forgot to look at the back of the building. What are they doing with this?
  5. I saw mayday hooked us up with the day time photo, so I figured I'd help out here. Quick shot coming home from work. Building and sign look great at night! Edit: Ya I just realized that. I took the pic with my phone and uploaded while I was walking down Euclid. I just resized it. :-D
  6. The caption under this picture says "Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert on Thursday presented this concept drawing for his proposed casino in Cleveland's Flats. " I thought it was going behind TC?
  7. I hope this does not go by TC. We have plenty around there already, lets spread this out. This needs to go on the lakefront or at least the river. Make this Casino a class act. Not some place for the locals to go and gamble. I like Gilbert and he seems like a smart and classy guy. I’m sure however he does it will turn out good. But it needs to be on the water with great views and a revolving restaurant. So when those people from out of town come in to gamble and stay in the hotel, they say "hey, Cleveland is getting its act together". I mean it’s so simple.. We could really make this into something that leaves a great mark on the city. Don’t stick it behind TC….
  8. What do you guys think were going to see as in terms of design for the actual Casino and Hotel? 5 story hotel? 30 story hotel? 5 story casino?
  9. I remember reading this a while back and was really excited. Any news on this?
  10. Correct. Somewhere on here are the images of what the signage will look like. I couldnt find them. When is this suppost to happen?
  11. I remember somewhere seeing (or at least I THINK I remember seeing) that Huntington bought the naming rights to 200 public square. Correct? I know FOSHO that they are at least moving into the building.
  12. While I feel bad for all these kids and their families. Don’t you think if they were brought up on more of a aggressive attitude they would be okay. My dad always told me to be nice to everyone but make SURE they respect you, and if they didn’t... MAKE THEM. That’s just what I did. My name is Christian and kids used to call me Christina. Someone called me "girlyboy" one day and then kicked me, I beat the sh!t out of him and have been fine since. Now I’m a bouncer and hockey player.. and as unfortunate at it seems it almost seems to me like survival of the fittest.. I don’t at all think that any of this is right, but these people have to stand up to each other. Never start violence but always finish it. As Malcolm X said, “Be peaceful, be courteous, obey the law, respect everyone; but if someone puts his hand on you, send him to the cemetery.” While this isn’t exactly the same, what happened in these situations is WRONG, I believe that some are born with respect and others have to earn it.
  13. Looks like there done... Also nice to see that they doing upkeep.
  14. Walking by and I thought I would give you guys a pic update of the prospect side.

LOL I was serious, I'm one of the few on this forums that likes huge bridges. While I'm not against pedestrian friendly, I AM PRO CAR! The more lanes the better, IMHO

Im just pumped for the 10 total lanes of traffic!
  17. Quick pic while walking to my car. I didnt realize I was going to be over here today or I would have brought a good camera, so this will have to do.
  18. Do you guys think East Bank of the Flats is going to be getting the money first, or will they be looking for smaller projects?
  19. After re-reading this entire thread I still have open questions. Is this building currently occupied, if so does anyone know the rate? I thought I read that there was interest of a hotel for this, still true? What is the restoration going to look like? Back to the original?
  20. While I would love another bar to go in on 4th (I'm a CSU Student). I agree that something else should be in there. I would like to see an upscale tanning salon go in. I used to go with the girls in my dorm to the salon near public square and I have to say, what a DUMP! While a tanning salon is not "artsy" or "unique" I think downtown could use an upscale tanning salon. It wouldn’t contribute to night life but it could do well, and be busy. Not to mention, after 15 min of lying in a hot tanning booth those people are going to need a drink. "Where to go..... Bars and restaurants just foot steps away.

In a city without any other crime and nothing else to worry about... Then yes, you are correct. Its difficult to enforce, how many people are they going to catch? 1 out of every 6000? Think about that 1 that got caught, is he going to stop txting in the car..? Hell no, he going to put the phone lower to make sure no one can see him. If anything chalk this law up as a failure and spend the money teaching people about the dangers of txting and driving. Look at what the state is doing with weed. When I was in school I wasn’t told not to smoke weed cause I'm going to get caught and go to jail. Maybe they said it once or twice but I don’t remember. I don’t do it cause I'm worried on the effects it will have on me as an athlete and the reliance I could develop on it. Not because of the law, Fu*k that. I live downtown and go to CSU, if I want weed in the next 10 min I could have it. Heck, I'm sure my neighbor is smoking right now. What I'm saying is, I don’t smoke because I am worried about the effect it has on me, from what I have learned about it. Not because I'm worried about getting caught, that is the last of my worries. Same with txting, like I'm really worried about the cops pulling me over for txting, lol. Just like that stupid seatbelt law, I just dont like wearing a seatbelt. I'm not a hard ass and I know a seatbelt can save lives, I just choose not to wear it, actually I usually forget. But when I get pulled over speeding or somehting, I just quicky put my seatbelt on. Ive done it before and I'm sure ill be doing it again. Just another stupid law that is pointless. The best chance we have in cutting down on txting while driving is educating people about it. But even then some people still dont care.

For those who don’t even want to take the chance of getting pulled over they will be even more unsafe and use their cell phones in their lap instead of above the wheel. If anything this is going to make things even more unsafe. Think back to when you were in school. In my high school only Juniors and Seniors were allowed to drive to school. So the Sophomores that had their license, would still drive to school but they would just park on the side streets. The neighbors hated it, there would be cars lining the streets, but there was nothing the school could do. My point is people are just going to find a way around it. This is nothing but a BIG WASTE OF TIME.
  24. I just checked the Flats East Bank website. http://www.flatseast.com/ I like how at the top they say "Opening 2010" at least they are optimistic.
  25. Get an ab wheel, pull up bar, and some push up handles... If you want to show off to chicks coming over.. "Woops ladies, excuse the pull up bar, but I just got done working out..." LOL But real training is done in a gym. The only alternative to a gym is a "real" gym in your home, which the average person cannot afford. I would say the CSU gym is the nicest in the area. They have a good size weight room, plenty of tread mills and lots of girl’s machines, not to mention VERY clean. I lived right next to the CSU gym, went there everyday after classes. A+. Not sure about the Fit works on 6th, I'm sure they have everything you need though. As Peabody said try the Cleveland rec's, now that’s old school.
