Gorgeous shots! Those bring back some memories.

I had a friend who was a pilot and who moved to San Francisco in the Seventies. When I visited there in 1982 I got in touch with him. By then he was working as a commercial pilot and flight instructor.

I offered to cover the expenses, and late one afternoon we took off from a small airport near the city and spent some time sightseeing. Recently I've been scanning Kodachromes from that experience; there aren't as many, but some of the views are from similar angles.

You did The City and The Town good.

Great Stuff!  Thanks so much for sharing...

Some very unique perspectives in there of San Francisco, although I think San Fran is best appreciated from ground level when photographing.  I have a feeling it is difficult to capture the experience of flying around San Fran on camera since the camera can't shoot 360 degrees..

Love the Bay Area, and it's nice to see the hills green.  When I was there in October, all the hills were golden brown, but I guess they have been getting pounded with rain lately.

Great shots of the City.  Today it is pouring rain again, so it is likely to stay green for a while longer.  Didn't see me waving and holding my "Urban Ohio" sign in any of the photos.............

awesome shots, when were they taken?  looks like you had perfect weather for flying.

and agreed, the amount of rain we've had this winter has made the hills the greenest I've seen them since we moved here.

That's like urban porno.

Beuatiful shots of the City by the Bay. It was interesting to see the oil storage tanks near Martinez from the air, with their adobe color, they blend in much better at ground level. All storage tanks should take a cue from these. From 2006 to the end of 2007 I lived first in Vallejo and then in the Redwoods near Sebastopol (actually, closer to Occidental but who knows where that is?) in Sonoma county. Many happy memories.  Taken collectively, the Bay area is about one of the most beautiful areas on the planet...except OHIO, of course!

Ohio Stadium in particular!  There's nothing more beautiful than Ohio Stadium for an OSU/Michigan game when we are victorious.

Amen to that!
