April 9, 200619 yr ^ Or press the "Print Screen" key on your Windows keyboard and paste it into MS Paint ;)
April 9, 200619 yr ^That's your backyard! Very nice! I know......it's a very pleasant setting........it actually helps to clear the mind :) Damn! I wish I could go whitewater rafting in my backyard lol You can't quite go whitewater rafting LOL 'cause the river is only about shin-deep in the rapids; but it can get waist-deep in the tranquil areas.......prime for canoeing and kayaking. Heck, I think the river is navigable from US 20 in Monroeville all the way to the lake! But be weary when it floods; it becomes quite the raging torrent. We've lost three picnic tables since '98 :)
April 9, 200619 yr ^ Or press the "Print Screen" key on your Windows keyboard and paste it into MS Paint ;) that was the first thing i tried and i cant get it to work, but if thats the easiest way i'll keep playing with it --- thanks for the tip.
April 9, 200619 yr I am just curious to know how you scanned it. I mean, did you place your monitor on the scanner and scan it? I am really tired right now, so maybe i missed somethign
April 17, 200619 yr Not Urban but it was Easter, so..... Capn Spaulding ! man, I got a hankering for fried chicken
April 18, 200619 yr I love my Cincy....keeping it real on my pc's mac os x desktop theme! THAT IS BLASPHEMOUS!!!
April 18, 200619 yr Yeah we need to take Uncle Rando down to Kenwood to buy a Mac. Take it from me, it was worth the switch last year.
April 18, 200619 yr Ach, depends on what you do...we have both a mac and a pc, and I prefer the pc... But man are there some nice Macs out there, no doubt...my mom's boss just got her some huge-ass thing, looks like a flat-panel monitor - and that's it, that's the whole computer. Gotta be a 21" screen, maybe more, keyboard, mouse and power, and that's it. Very, very cool looking...
April 18, 200619 yr Ach, depends on what you do... Not anymore... Apple came out with Boot Camp (free) so you can not dual boot Windows XP on your Intel Mac. So people who wanted to switch to Mac but were scared to invest that much money on a system when they might need a Windows only system, don't have to worry anymore. You can use your Mac and when you come across a program that you need to run but it is only supported in Windows you can boot into Windows with Boot Camp. http://www.apple.com/macosx/bootcamp/
April 18, 200619 yr Have you seen this Parallels thing ? Lets you run Mac, Win & Lin simultaneously. I believe you can copy and paste between os's http://www.parallels.com/en/products/workstation/mac/
April 18, 200619 yr ^ Right here: http://fedora.redhat.com/Download/ Good luck... As someone who works on UNIX & Linux at work, I learned something important. I spent most of my time with Linux getting things to work like compiling video codecs and media players while with Mac everything just works. I am far more productive on my Mac than any other OS I have ever used.
April 18, 200619 yr ^ Yes I lurk over at http://www.macrumors.com daily ;) I would also recommend - www.appleinsider.com, www.thinksecret.com and for the rare occasions you have problems, www.macintouch.com Were you able to get Grasscat to make the switch?
April 18, 200619 yr Were you able to get Grasscat to make the switch? He is from the West Side, he will be too 'hard-headed' & 'stuck in his ways'. ;)
April 18, 200619 yr Yep I know about all of those and I never tried to get Grasscat to switch although I would help him out with software if he did ;).
April 19, 200619 yr Yeah we need to take Uncle Rando down to Kenwood to buy a Mac. Take it from me, it was worth the switch last year. I would love to get a Mac, but I cannot do so. The programs (Arc GIS, Auto CAD, 3d Studio Max) I need to run currently do not operate on Macs. I know you can download those emulators, but my PC works for now. :|
April 19, 200619 yr Boot Camp isn't an emulator, it lets your Windows XP boot natively on the Mac when you need programs that are Windows based only.
April 19, 200619 yr People are getting better rendering speeds out of Apples running XP than on their , uh, non-Apple pcs. haven't heard anything specific to 3dS but Cinema4D is supposed to.
April 19, 200619 yr Now that the average Joe—you know who you are—can load XP on their Macs, let the benchmarking begin. Macologist ran about five million tests on similar and disparate machines and the MacBooks and iMacs consistently kept their heads above water. They didn’t really run a summary paragraph, but all the numbers are there. While the methodology doesn’t really compare Apples to, well, Apples, it’s nice to see it in black and white. http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/pcs/macintel-vs-wintel-167334.php
April 19, 200619 yr Lol. Why would you compare it to a AMD64 2GHz Processor with a mediocre Graphics card? I'd like to see how it stacks up against a AMD64 3.7GHz with one of these bad boys http://cgi.ebay.com/eVGA-Geforce-7900-GTX-512-MB-PCI-Express-Video-Card-SLI_W0QQitemZ8796422583QQcategoryZ40161QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Although I'm not gonna deny Macs are the shit and you'd probably get more frames/second for your buck if you went with Apple.
April 19, 200619 yr It should just be tested against laptops, really. That is all a mini & imac really are at this point. Dunno if that is what the test is or not.
April 24, 200619 yr The desktop is clean - I can't say the same for the folders  clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
April 24, 200619 yr Is that Charlotte? :) "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
April 24, 200619 yr Alright, I thought I would post another one. This is a work in progress. I am getting ready to push out another set of photos tomorrow for http://www.cincyimages.com I have about another 15 photos to finish and then my desktop will be clean again.
April 24, 200619 yr Nice! "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
April 24, 200619 yr Eghh I made a remark on your Cincy skyline picture page not realizing I could have just done it in the guestbook. I find the photographers rights pdf interesting. I heard it was illegal to take a picture that includes random people that didn't give you permission. I always feel weird taking pics in public because of that, and people's ridiculous paranoia and dirty looks(probably because they've been up to no good.)
April 24, 200619 yr cant wait to see the photos monte! I'll be watching the ohio photos page for them!
April 24, 200619 yr I wish the percentage of Mac users on Urban Ohio reflected the percentage of all users.
April 24, 200619 yr OK, its not exciting, but since you asked...my 12-year old daughter took this photo.
April 24, 200619 yr Anyone know of a good website where I can get widescreen sized wallpapers of cities, particularly Cincinnati? I'd take them myself but my camera isn't exactly up to par :(.
April 25, 200619 yr ^ Explain the map roadfan. All the places you have been? That's my counties visited map. Previously I used this image for my screenshot as well (The then abandoned Ship Hotel along US 30/Lincoln Highway in Pennsylvania, circa 2000)
