March 18, 201015 yr Gentle alpacas are big business in Ohio http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20100318/NEWS01/3190341/Alpacas+big+business+in+Ohio The state has nearly 25,000 alpacas listed with the Alpaca Registry Inc. - about 20 percent of the U.S. total. The actual number of alpacas in Ohio could be higher because owners not seriously involved in breeding the animals might be excluded from the list, said Lori Laniewicz, an alpaca farmer in New Richmond.
March 18, 201015 yr Man, I was all excited to read about Peruvian stuff... (I lived there for 2.5 years) I remember one day when a large cargo jet (air canada) showed up at the tiny Tacna airport. It had come to haul away 400 llamas. There is an Ohio guy who sets up a lot of these transfers. Supposedly he is the expert for organizing international transfers of animals. You need to ship an elephant from Germany to Australia, he's your guy. He's from Sandusky and he's a first class jerk.
March 18, 201015 yr I don't think I've ever seen an alpaca in Ohio before LOL! "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
