Went up to Cleveland yesterday for the Cleveland International Film Festival and took some pictures while on my walk around downtown.

Yes, that is Trinity Cathedral.  It's as beautiful inside as it is outside.

Well done!

I miss Cleveland :(

These are WONDERFUL photos! I live right where these were taken and it's nice to see others taking in the beautiful scenery that I get to see EVERY day :) :) :)

Very nice!

I see what you see... :-)

Great Photos.

Once again--- great angles.

Excellent!  A great reminder just how much architectural ornamentation there is up and down Euclid Avenue!

But oh my, the closer the CSU student center gets to completion, the less I like it :(

^Agree...it is looking more and more like the bunker it replaced.  I was not thrilled with the initial renderings, but had hoped it would look better in execution.  This does not appear to be the case.

Photos are great.  Makes one appreciate certain buildings that you tend to pass and ignore on a daily basis because  you are just so use to them.

Thanks for the effort.

Cleveland looks great.  Very un-Houston-like, except for the new CSU student center.

Mayday - I saw The Big Gay Musical (which is hilarious and I recommend that everyone see it) and I had planned on seeing Out of Place, but my friends and I didn't want to wait that long (it didn't start until 9:20) and didn't want to spend another $10 for a movie.

Thanks everyone, glad you enjoyed the photos. I am not sure whether or not I like the new CSU student center, it looks really bland. I wish they would have done something similar to Akron's student union.

Thanks for sharing Andrew.  Great shots as always.  I especially liked the angle of the City Club, Schofield, and AT Tower.

I didn't care much for the exterior when the design was released and my opinion has not changed.  But, one can't forget, that the layout of the interior of the old center was just as bad and uninviting as the exterior.  It just didn't beacon students for anything other than the fast food and for instances when they had to go there for admin purposes.  I hope they at least took care of that problem.

Thanks for the great pictures!

I'll be heading up there for the CIFF myself, later this week. (I want to see Youngstown: Still Standing)  But, I'm not sure if I'll have the opportunity for picture taking.

Great pics Andrew!

Great to see all the new construction! Cleveland looks great!

Thanks for a terrific photo tour!

Cleveland architecture really puts down town Seattle to shame.

Whats the name of this building?

John Hartness Brown. It's a complex of ~3 buildings (1000 - 1021 Euclid).

Thanks. Are they doing anything to it?

Thanks again, I am glad that you found my photos appealing. Clueless, thanks for giving the name of that building (John Hartness Brown). I like that building and I hope that it is rehabbed sometime in the near future.

By the way, I went up to Cleveland last Saturday and although it was cloudy, it was still really nice out (and windy). There were so many people at Edgewater, it was great. A friend and I also went to Wendy Park and the abandoned coast guard station; it was amazing and the views were astounding, I wish that I had my camera. Gordon Square is also looking really good and the smoothies at the Gypsy Cafe are delicious. We also paid a visit to University Circle/Little Italy and I really like the townhouses there (Circle 118 and Coltman). I found that the townhouses at Circle 118 looked better in person, I actually liked the colors. Every time I come to Cleveland, I find out something new about the city and fall in love all over again. Next time I am in town, I will have to bring my camera.

Wendy park...? Can I ask where that's at? I'm always up for exploring new places!

Those buildings were awarded state tax credits towards rehabilitation.  The plan is to restore the buildings and convert them to residences with retail below.  there was actually a point when the developer had all his financing in place (and miraculously it was all private), and they were just waiting on the tax credits to get moving.  And then sometime shortly before the tax credits were awarded one of the major investors backed out, which lead to a sort of dominoe effect.  So now the developer, like many, is trying to obtain financing to get the project going again.  It's not clear whether he is interested in selling the project to another developer or not yet.
