I was covering Sullivant Ave for a Hilltop/Fton Feat 2010 Remix and before heading off I almost forgot about this little Hilltop hood which is right off that street. I walked from Demorest almost to the Franklinton border, but my camera battery starting flashing the low battery warning (why it tells me at the last second when I only can get maybe 10 more shots is beyond me; I hope I can change that in the options menu...and are there any good lens brushes out there?) before it crapped out at Nashoba Ave. Beforehand I did cover Wilshire Heights which is a small tidy neighborhood (a huge contrast to litter-ridden Sullivant Ave) that boasts a number of English Cottage Revival homes and street names ending in "shire" and is adjacent to Westgate: another stable Hilltop neighborhood.

  • 1 year later...

I used to live here(for nearly 20 years). Also the areas directly to the east are officially included in Wilshire Heights I believe(my deed and stuff had a map of the area). Binns Blvd. in particular has a number of very nice and well kept homes.

I always thought that the proximity to Bishop Ready Catholic High School always helped this neighborhood a bit. And it reminded me a bit of a smaller, lesser version of Westgate.

At one point Mound street in this area was called Darbyshire I believe. At least that is what is on the map of it I still have.

Pretty quaint area much like Westgate to the North. Also reminds me of Driving Park.

Actually I was mistaken when I said Mound Street was Darbyshire at one point. It was Dartmoor, not Darbyshire.
